These are devastating numbers. When you have such serious problem, you have to consider drastic solutions. Quarantining is really not that drastic. If these people aren't able to control themselves and not spread AIDS, don't you think they deserve to be removed from society, to keep them from killing others?

Let me take a shot in the dark... You're not HIV+. Quarantining is imprisonment of the innocent. I have difficulty thinking of something more drastic.

Also, those numbers you post include Sub Saharan Africa where HIV infected people make up 10-30 percent of the population. Do you honestly believe that a dirt poor country can lock up 30 percent of it's population?

Let me ask you, since you clearly see it as so critical as to justify striping millions of their liberties, would you support free condoms in high schools?

How do you quarantine 36 million people? I support maybe quarantining the four with the resistant strain, but chances are that it is already out, and we'll never catch up to it. People who engage in anonymous sex probably have multiple partners. It'll be around the world in no time flat, and probably already was before the new strain was identified.
