(Grin!) I have fond memories of Lt-Col North testifying: I took annual leave from work to watch it on TV. He was *spectacular* on camera, "under fire".
The press could have made him look considerably foolish had he not done such a competent job "on the day".
Unless something dramatic happens, the next POTUS will be a wartime president.
Who has wartime credentials on the Democrat side?

At the end of the day, America will need a good wartime President to navigate whatever is going to happen with the War on Terror. It will either be a surrender-and-defeat, or it will be a Victory.
Neither of the Democrat leading candidates have much encouraging to say about their wartime credentials. Kerry?
On the Republican side, McCain's story is great. Ollie North's story is equally good: with the added advantage that he does not carry quite so much political baggage...
I dunno why Americans would allow the MSM to decide who should run: after all, they are not as a group enfranchised with a vote. Only each and every one of you individual Americans are.
Maybe it is time for another Theodore Roosevelt-style President to take the reins, finish the WOT and go whup ass on the world stage.
I'd say Ollie fits that profile nicely.
