I love ya, GW - but it is long since past time to call a copperhead a copperhead.

He keeps stumbling on the "enemies domestic" part of his oath.

You've got that right. Too bad that's the only part of his oath that he's been stumbling on!

IF I were in the military in Iraq and I heard him say that after all the demoralizing things the RATS have said about them, I would be very angry with him! They're listening too. Look how quickly they reacted to "Jon Carry." He needs to call them what they are! Traitors!! That hate the troops and they hate Bush too.

The President is stomping all over the Dems on Iraq.

And meanwhile he sweet-talks them at home while they divide over funding.

LOL...he can afford to sweet-talk them...it confuses them even more.

I think he should fight back too, but he didn't hail their patriotism as the headline suggests. He just said he's not calling them unpatriotic.

Bush does a diservice to the word "Patriotism". The real patriots are the men and women serving their country. And by calling the RATS patriots is disgraceful.

"We share a common goal, and that is to keep America safe," -GWB

Aw, c'mon George. Stop pandering to these weasels. Instead, call them out on their lyin' calumny, and be like a man instead of another brown-nosing, snivilin' politician!

You can bullshit the fans but you can't bullshit the players. We (and they, either) ain't buying your bullshit! You are just making us madder, watering down your own position, and disheartening your base - while encouraging these bastards to thirst for more of your blood.

KNOCK IT OFF, ALREADY!!

"Ya gotta remember how he was raised. The Bushes have always suffered from "liberal envy." In 2003, his father awarded the George H.W. Bush Excellence in Public Service Award to Senator Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts. It runs in the family."

Bottom line bump

Islam is the religion of peace. The democrats are the pary of patriotism. The sun sets in the south..........

Actually, there are places in the world where the sun does set in the south, and in the north.

But getting to the point, you have to realize that official Washington is really one big country club for these politicians. To them it's all a game, like a golf game at the local elites' country club. membership in the club and fellowship among the members is more important than accomplishing anything. You and I really are more concerned about outcomes than they are, because they are mostly insulated from outcomes by their wealth and social circles. When they lose elections they move on to even better positions and greater wealth.

Their kids don't serve in the military; their gated communities are immune from the illegal alien hordes; their income is sheltered from the taxes you pay, their health care is top notch; their kids don't go to failing public schools.

Life's not fair, except to them, so get over it. When they impeach Bush, they'll still say he was a great guy, just like all the Republicans cozy up to Bill and Hillary Clinton now.

Why after all these years does he touch his toes every time he approaches a democrat?

Couldn't agree more.

Perhaps the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

And that may very well be the case. I just believe there's very little to be gained by acting hostile. I don't think that's in his nature anyway. If anything positive can be accomplished it certainly won't come about by him being confrontational, and no, I won't be holding my breath waiting for a positive outcome about anything from this new majority.

Loosing Congress to the Democrats didn't awaken Bush to reality. He has made it clear that he has no intention of closing the Mexican Border or stopping illegal immigration. The Bush Administration and the Republican Congress have increased the size and reach of the federal government and spent money like a gang of drunken sailors. They have given no indication that they intend to nullify the Supreme Court's ridiculous "Eminent Domain" decision.

Maybe President Bush should just declare himself a Democrat. He might as well.

He has already alienated his base support, and the Democrat Party, the Mainstream Newsmedia, academia, Hollywood, and the Left all over the world would suddenly become his enthusiastic supporters and approve of everything he has done and expects to do.

Why not?

How cool! You not only bash W but also bash him in words that illustrate your advanced level of wit.

I cannot believe you actually said democrats families do not serve in the military. In Texas, especially in South Texas, the bulk of those volunteering for the military are democrats. Esp in South Texas, the majority of those volunteering are democrat hispanics. It is a proud tradition in their families. One cannot deny this.
And all President Bush is saying is to debate the war does not mean one is not patriotic. It is as simple as that.

I didn't. Read it again. I said the elites' families don't serve, both Republican and democrat. And those folks in Teaxas are DINOs. They are for the most part real conservatives whose party has left them.

I am sorry for misreading your post. It is just that by and large, most of those we have buried, soldiers killed in Iraq, seem to be hispanics from the families of democrats here. Again, I am sorry. And no, they are not dinos....they are typical Texas democrats. Moderates. Not esp liberal. Thank you for your reply.
