Wurtsboro - Maybe the oven is not the best way to dry out your stash.

Police say a Wurtsboro Hills man learned this the hard way over the weekend.

About 7:30 a.m. Sunday, Wurtsboro firefighters went to a house fire at 7 Locust Trail, the home of Patrick Jones, 28. They discovered that the fire had started in the kitchen stove – and they found the wad of pot, more than a pound of it, inside the oven.

State police arrived, and charged Jones with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana and fourth-degree arson, felonies; and misdemeanor possession of a weapon. Police said Jones also had illegal metal knuckles in the home.

Jones was arraigned and sent to Sullivan County Jail without bail, pending an appearance in Mamakating Town Court.

Wonder if the firefighters wound up with a case of the munchies?

I was thinking the same thing. As soon as I saw the title all I could picture was a bunch of fire trucks parked in front of a 7-11 some where and a bunch of fire fighters buying up all the twinkies and pringles.

Well, I clicked because I couldn't imagine why anyone would dry a pot in the oven, when it could just be toweled off and stand in the dish rack for an hour.

Doesn't arson imply some sort of deliberate attempt to set something on fire? This guy was just an world class idiot. For one, as anyone who grows pot will tell you, oven drying is the worst way to dry it. It would be the equivalent of cooking a steak in the microwave......blah.

It's much better to use the laundry dryer to dry your reefer. Back in the late 1970's here in the Florida Keys when bales of weed were found floating in the water, a quick washing with the garden hose and pop it in a mesh bag into the dryer was the way to dry it out.
Don't ask how I know this.
