No criminal charges for Dems that rifled through a Republican's desk (CT State 'Watergate')
WTNH ^ | February 2, 2007 | Mark Davis

It is being compared to Watergate, on a much smaller scale. Two Democrats were caught on tape rifling through a Republican's desk drawer at the Legislative Office Building.

For nearly five minutes, on a day late last month, after 5 o'clock, the security camera showed a man going through a desk while a second man watches. The desk belongs to Republican assistant clerk Juliana Simone.

A four-day investigation concludes that this was intentional employee misconduct, but not criminal behavior.

"I think I'm in the minority party and they just wanted to let me know that and that I should not be enjoying my work environment and that I should feel intimidated and I should feel uncomfortable," said Simone.

The person who blew the whistle on this earlier this week was House Republican leader Larry Cafero of Norwalk.

"Someone asked me the question before, 'well what would they be wanting with papers on the desk of an assistant clerk?' and my answer was 'I don't know what they wanted in the Watergate building in 1972 but stupid things occur," said Cafero.

The two men in the security camera video are Democratic State Senate clerks, Rick Lopes, a former New Britain Alderman and Steve Palmer. Lopes was suspended for three days this week without pay.

A spokesman for the Senate Democrats said this kind of activity is unprofessional and unacceptable and appropriate action has been taken. In addition to Lopes' suspension, News Channel 8 has learned that Palmer has been re-assigned to another committee.

Democrat corruption triumphs once again. What else is new, they've been getting away with this for about 150 years.

The reason the plumbers went to the Watergate: John Dean, the President's counsel, wanted them to pick up a black book that had his wife's name it it. She had worked as an "escort", and he didn't want that to get out. So, pretending that he represented the President, he took a message to the plumber's unit.

The plumbers were organized for national security reasons, and Gordon Liddy never did testify, rather going to jail and serving his time. Dean lied like hell to protect himself.

They are making a new circle in hell for Mr. Dean.

They should be fired immidiately, that is what would happen in any normal circumstances (and would really consist of 'appropriate action'), Of course Bill Clinton should have been removed as POTUS in 98 so I don't expect anything solid!

Since this has been declared legal, the Repubs should hire a couple hundred people and send them to every Dem desk they can find. Keep doing this until the Dems squeak loud enough. Then keep doing it. Don't fire the people, just reassign them to rifle through different desks.

What BS. Of course if Sandy Burglar can steal and destroy archive materials, this can't be a problem at all.

More criminal behavior from members of the Democrat Party (who are cleaning up the "culture of corruption") simply ignored.

Within the past several years I have begun to mistrust any person who votes for a Democrat. I can't help but ask myself, "What kind of person would vote for anyone who belongs to a group that routinely excuses the obvious criminal activity of its members?"

Well they could have been admonished or shudders, censured.

This punishment is a joke.

Connecticut ping!

This is disgusting. Sandy Burglar, Biden's racist comment about Obama already swept under the rug, yet Trent Lott was forced to step down for his comment, now this. This list goes on and on. I am SO sick of these 'RAT double standards...

Please Freepmail me if you want on or off my infrequent Connecticut ping list.

Clearly Democrats see themselves as a secret police force above the law. Hillary still have to answer for 900 illegally obtained FBI files that are presumably being used to illegally blackmail people.

For all the cries of "giving government too much power", Democrats will do things whether they are legal or not. They have the power if not the "right".
