As a former Californian who was in McClintock's district, what is his political future? And is he still Senator.
We moved a year after Arnie was elected, and I voted for him. Since we left the state in 2004, I can't believe the stories we hear coming out of there. I'm glad we left when we did.
I guess I was right when I said that McClintock didn't support Ahnold. I wonder if anybody is going to "call his office" and verify this? LOL
Go Tom!
Ping.
Hey ccg! Hain'tchew gota pingeruzio list fer Mr. McClintock?
Lessee... is that supposed to be CARE PUBLIC.COM, OR CA REPUBLIC.COM, OR CAR EPUBLIC.COM???
Thanks for posting this, pogo.
He was re-elected to a 2d 4-year term in the CA state senate in 2004. State law limits him to that 2d term; he is "termed out" of THAT office, anyway, after 2008.
Yeah, I had the same reaction: Perhaps not the most easily-parsed wad of letters. Only after a bit of staring did I figure it's meant to mean "Ca[lifornia] Republic dot com."
Only trouble is... with the referendun, recall and initiative processes, it's more of a "DIRECT DEMOCRAZY!" This makes it totally ungovernable, IMO!!!
Don't git me wrong, I think Tom's the best statesmanlike politician CA's had since 2002, running for statewide office, however... I'm almost annoyed at him for not recognizing what was being done to him and how willingly he just bent over and grabbed his ankles, especially during this last campaign!!!
Thanks I just signed up and intend to donate money. I will help Tom in any way I can.
I'm not so disturbed that the Senator made a deal with Orange County devils for campaign support but I am disappointed he couldn't predict that his new, European buddy would turn on him in the eleventh hour.
My viewpoint is that the Senator is pretty solid and he just might have won if he had turned on the imported, political whore once the CAGOP publicly announced the Senator's candidacy. I just can't see that Sundheim could have done much else to sabotage him.
The Senator was the one voice in California politics who speaks with enough authority to have seriously undermined the Austrian's credibility. California's MSM would have given the Senator's criticism wide coverage (for free) in an effort to bolster Angelides' failing campaign.
Had the Senator exposed the Austrian's financial shams he would have turned the gubernatorial contest into a three way race and eliminated Garamendi from the public spot light. Even a third place finish in the gubernatorial contest would have given the Senator the Lt. Governor's chair.
Sorry... I was out of town.
Belated McClintock ping!
WTG Tom! I'm in!
Thanks for the ping!!!
BTTT
I thought he was termed out at the first of this year. Was I mistaken? Is it the first of next year? What???
2008
Thanks.
