I understand that it needs to be given before she is sexually active. But why not wait until she is 16?

Or if you know your child is not active at that point, then 18. I would really prefer that we wait until 18 and my daughter could figure out what she wants to do on her own.

Unless you have her locked up in your basement you are completely ignoring the outside dangers to your daughter: perverts and rapists. Are they going to not assault her because she's 12 or 14 or still a virgin at 16? Get the vaccine because if she were raped and developed cervical cancer when you could've prevented that further horror, you will find it hard to live with yourself.

I empathize with your concern. But it only takes one emotional indiscretion at a young age. Teenage hormones are very powerful. Many girls are not tramps, but are not as white as snow like their parents think they are.
