So would an AIDS vaccine if it existed. But the only way somebody can get HIV or HPV is through sexual promiscuity. What Perry did today is NO DIFFERENT than signing a law requiring schoolkids to get vaccinated against AIDS.

This corporate whore Rick Perry (who claims he wants to be the Republican VP candidate in 2008 by the way) has essentially just stated that all Texas teenagers are sluts.

In most states I believe it is mandatory for any child who starts school to have current childhood immuinizations.

THAT IS, unless you are an illegal immigrant. Then it's no problemo.

Gov. Perry should focus on seeing to it ALL children are up to date on the shots they are supposed to have...NOT THIS!

HIV, yes. HPV...well...even close "heavy petting" contact can spread it. And deny it as they may, even many of the "holier-than-thou's" on this site were guilty of doing a little of that without their parents' knowledge as a teenager.

Again, I don't support the mandatory-ness of it. But let's get our facts straight when we make an argument.

That's ignorant bull. It only takes one and sex isn't the only method of transfer.

Suppose your young daughter is raped by the pervert next door or Bill Clinton. Would you feel good about yourself if she gets cervical cancer because you opted her out of this vaccine?

Making it a "mandate" is a good idea and since you *can* "opt-out" it's not really a mandate to begin with.
