That's what my neighbor across the street thinks. I don't know that she knew about the opt-out part, but she was furious. My wife casually asked her about it when we were putting up our trash and recycling bins tonight and she swore when she said Perry's name (I've known this women for several years, and she's always had some kind of Perry/Bush bumper sticker on her car and I've never heard her swear).

Her conclusion was that Perry screwed up raising his kids, and thinks everybody else was a lousy parent to, and said she would pull her kids out of school if Perry tries to force this on everybody.

We didn't even try to correct her interpretation of it or ask her for her source - we just tried to change the subject because she was visibly angry.

The good news is - we know about Perry's connections to this company, both through his former chief of staff, campaign contributions, and through his mother. That's stuff that he can't put back in the bottle.

It's also good news that a lot of Conservatives are finding their backbones and saying "wait a minute, that's not your job to be trying to dictate such things".
