What makes me most mad is that he didn't even attempt to pass legislation, as Merck is pushing in a bunch of other states, he saved them the trouble and just issued an Executive Order. No need to call our elected representatives and voice our opinions now!

You are surprised by Perry's actions? You have got to be kidding me! I don't mean to sound harsh, but it sounds like you aren't aware of the fact that Perry was a Democrat in the 80s (during Reagan's years in the WH), and that he has a very long list of campaign donors that range from construction companies (think tollways and public transit) to pharmaceutical companies (think this vaccine).

Perry only became a Republican when his buddy Phil Gramm (also a former Democrat) told him which way the wind was blowing and that he needed to change parties or else face being in the minority party by the end of the 90s.

I'm not sure why anybody who knows Perry's history would be surprised he would order something like this.
