If what I have been reading on the net is correct, Vista is only going to let certain peripherals work, isn't that going to make it a Mac?

What peripherals don't work on a Mac? Its one of the beauties of the MacOS that you just plug and go. Almost never need to download drivers.

From my understanding, the issue stems from an architectural change in the way Winders deals with device drivers. They've modularized them in the kernel now, and also have a DRM scheme for them. So out of the gate, there will be limited support a lot of devices than in the past, until manufacturers rewrite for the new scheme.

So in other words, No W2K/XP drivers will work for Vista.

Not my problem since I saw all this B$ coming long ago and made the switch to Linux. Haven't missed Winders at all.
