We need the old CD air-raid warning system back,,,
I think it would help folks take cover...
I'm in the county, not the city. During a rainstorm, I doubt that I'd hear our city warning siren if I was sleeping. Thankfully, I'm scared to death of tornadoes. Been through several close calls. So, I have a scanner that screeches if there is a warning....otherwise, if it's storming, I just don't sleep!
I grew up in a house that was a mile out of city limits of Boulder, Colorado....so all we had was a volunteer fire dept.
Whenever there was a fire, they would wind up that CD alarm, and there was NO WAY anyone could sleep through it for miles and miles.
The alarm we have right behind our house now, in Texas, I can't hear it if the TV is on....or someone is talking, ridiculous.

I don't agree. People that are prepared are prepared. Florida is HUGE. No way can you put in enough of these. Half the old foggies from up north have their hearing aids out any how. You have plenty of warning. You have all year to get ready. Get a radio.
