Surprise,surprise...opening the Doors!

.......................................

I think I can help Charlie Crist in his evolving political transformation.

Our recently elected Republican governor keeps finding new ways to embrace his inner DemocratIt's getting hard to keep score.

In just a few months, Crist has become an advocate for restoring civil rights to felons and for establishing paper-trail voting. He has embraced stem cell research and has made an unambiguous call to respond to global warming.

He quotes Robert Kennedy, gives his cellphone number out to Democratic rivals and talks about the need for open government. He even scrapped Florida's state song, citing its racially insensitive lyrics.

Did I mention he's a Republican?

It's no wonder that 71 percent of Democrats in Florida approve of Crist so far, according to a recent poll. And this popularity is bound to spur our governor on to new highs - or new lows, depending on how you look at it.

That would explain the Jim Morrison matter.

Idea couldn't get much higher

Crist's latest populist cause is considering a posthumous pardon for the former lead singer for the Doors. Morrison was convicted for indecent exposure and profanity at a 1969 Miami concert, a concert that led to 30,000 people in Miami to "Rally for Decency."

~Snip~

And that's not even considering the tidbit that Jim Morrison's roommate at Florida State University was George Greer, who would become the judge to authorize the death of Terry Schiavo.

Did I mention that Crist's a Republican?

Crist breaks on through to the other side of political doors

Again referring to Terri in discussing the latest Supremes case...

As stated before, the Court found the law met all three parts. The Court focused on the State’s interest in the protecting the life of the fetus in order to correct a problem perpetuated by Roe and subsequent rulings. Agreeing with the decision in Casey, Kennedy wrote, “The Court’s precedents after Roe had ‘undervalue[d] the State’s interest in potential life.’” Here the Court agreed with Congress that killing partially delivered babies can only result in a dehumanized society. As such, protecting newborns and other vulnerable lives may become more difficult. Human dignity has already begun to diminish. We have witnessed during the past ten years assisted suicides and the euthanasia of Terri Schiavo. In other countries like Belgium and Netherlands, the elderly have already become victims of state mandated euthanasia.

Finally, A Defense of the Right to Life

Droll! :-) I like his idea of using a Doors song as the new Florida state anthem. Here's a touching refrain from their most famous hit, "C'mon Baby, light my fire!" Doesn't this SOUND like the Visitors telling us why Crist was the right candidate for conservatives? Wouldn't it be inspiring at solemn state functions and gatherings?

Ah, ah, ah, ah!
Ah, ah, ah, ah!
Ah, ah, ah, ah!
Ah, ah, ah, ah!
Ah, ah, ah, ah!
Ah, ah, ah, ah!
Ah, ah, ah, ah!
Aah, aah, aah, aah, aah
Aah, aah, aah, aaah!

Says Governor Crist (really, this is a current quote), “I can remember when I was 10 years old listening to the song, Come On Baby Light My Fire. Classic. Classic...."

All rise for the playing of the Florida state anthem while the hon. Governor Charles Crist approaches the podium...

[Orchestra plays the Doors' "Light my Fire" sung by Ozzie "bite off their little heads" Osbourne and Janet "wardrobe failure" Jackson]

It was the greatest night of my life.
Although i still had not found a wife
I had my friends
Right there beside me.
We were close together.
We tripped the wall, we scaled the graveyard
Ancient shapes were all around us.
The wet dew felt fresh beside the fog.
Two made love in an ancient spot
One chased a rabbit into the dark
A girl got drunk and balled the dead
And i gave empty sermons to my head.
Cemetery, cool and quiet
Hate to leave your sacred lay
Dread the milky coming of the day.

REMEMBER THIS? www.judgegeorgegreer.com was JIM MORRISON’S ROOMATE IN COLLEGE. Crist must certainly know this. He’s a creep and I will NEVER vote for him. He changed girlfriends again too. I bet the socialite divorcee dumped him cz he’s so full of himself and busy reaching out to dems and evil rinos who by and large wanted Terri killed.
