Still Waiting
Dakota Voice ^ | 1/29/2007 | Carrie K. Hutchens

I don't know about anyone else, but I am still waiting for Michael Schiavo to make a correction on his blog about what "actually" took place in Colorado when he went there (to the debate) to supposedly ask Congresswoman Musgrave one question and she and her staff supposedly tried to have him removed. He called it, "My unreal night in Colorado - with radio link" (Thu Oct 26, 2006 at 08:05:14 PM PST). I'll say (from what I read) that it was his "unreal night".

As I said before in "Standing up and Admitting a Mistake: Not Schiavo's Style?",  if four uniformed officers were around my seat, I would have some idea of what was going on. I certainly wouldn't be sitting in "duh mode" to only be told later of what took place right there around me, as Michael suggests he was. If Michael's account is realistic -- his response and reaction is not. Nor is his response appropriate now that he has "learned" what he was "allegedly told" is not what took place. One would think if he can't get the words out that he was mistaken, he could at least have removed the inaccurate entry from his blog.

He has done neither.

I'm also still waiting to read about, "Also, maybe tomorrow I'll post about my election-eve rally with Bill Clinton in Florida." (A real election impact by Michael Schiavo, Thu Nov 09, 2006 at 10:40:34 AM PST).  Indeed, I would love to read that story by Michael, since I read it was not possible. Not if he was implying it was the Bill Clinton that is the former President of the United States. Will be interesting to see what he says about that if he ever does.

If Michael couldn't get it straight what happened at the Musgrave debate or even if he spent election-eve with former President Bill Clinton -- do you suppose he might have gotten Terri Schiavo's wishes mixed-up as well? (He does claim to have a bad memory from what I read.) Makes one wonder. At least makes me wonder. Whatever...

I'm still waiting for the corrections if not the explanations!

Hannity has been shamelessly promoting Giuliani the past several weeks. When Rudy came along with his BS line about "I'm personally opposed to abortion, but it's a woman's right," (I realize that this is not a verbatim quote) Hannity never questioned it, even though we have heard similar statements from just about every Democrat running for office.

Same thing with his statement about appointing justices like Scalia and Alito (for all we know, Rudy may have meant more Italian-Americans like himself and these two), Hannity never asked him to explain why he would appoint judges who have views that are directly the opposite of his.

I used to listen to his radio show every day driving home from work, but I have noticed in the past year or so that Hannity is becoming far more libertarian in his views and I will often turn it off. I don't know why he is doing this, but hopefully this is the wake-up call he needs.

As an aside, as a Catholic (and I'll be the first to admit that my level of devotion has had its ups and downs over the years), I believe that the Lord is far more concerned with our views and actions in defense of morality than He is with whether or not I inadvertently eat a cheeseburger on a Friday during Lent.

I KNEW you'd confess one of these days!!!

By the way, how do you eat a cheeseburger "inadvertently"? I eat mine with mayonnaise and onions.

I think right now that the nomination is Fred Thompson's if he wants it.

Well, Cal Coolidge was pretty good and I liked Grover Cleveland, except he was a Democrat.

Are you Canadian? REAL Americans don't put mayonaise on hamburgers.

I would have to go back over the liturgies to find it, but recall Our Lord is more concerned for what comes out of our mouths than what goes in them.

No greasy cheeseburgers for me, though, until after Lent. It is just me, but I go for plenty of mayo and tons of fries.

;-)

And another thing, the phrase "whether or not" indicates to a hypothetical scenario. :-)

I was speaking hypothetically. Last Friday I had an orange for breakfast, skipped lunch and had cheese pizza for dinner.

What is it with you two and mayo on burgers? It's un-American. Please tell me you don't put mayo on fries.

Oh, go eat your tunafish casserole.

Real Americans use REAL mayonnaise on their burgers -- Hellmann's. What do you use, Miracle Whip?

I don't, but it's delicious. Mayonnaise is how you turn potatoes into potato salad, after all.

The only mayonaise I will have is Hellmann's, Miracle Whip is some sort of lab-produced condiment.

I don't eat tunafish out of a can. Though I do eat fresh tuna several times a month.

Yet another food that REAL AMERICAN MEN generally don't eat! Potatoes can be baked (in which case they should be loaded up with REAL butter, REAL sour cream and if you like cheese and bacon), mashed (again with REAL butter and hopefully gravy), French fried, home fried for breakfast, or out of the Lay's bag!

In Wisconsin, one of the hamburger chains serves its burgers on butter buns. I suppose you are against butter buns, too. I suppose you eat fishburgers!!

Ah! Now you are talking the talk!

By the way, do you know who NEVER ate mayonnaise on their burgers? Nazis, that's who.

What do you think the problem with Fred Thompson is? I would personally prefer Hunter or Brownback, but Thompson obviously has more name recognition.
