Still Waiting
Dakota Voice ^ | 1/29/2007 | Carrie K. Hutchens

Posted on 02/02/2007 3:49:53 AM PST by 8mmMauser

I don't know about anyone else, but I am still waiting for Michael Schiavo to make a correction on his blog about what "actually" took place in Colorado when he went there (to the debate) to supposedly ask Congresswoman Musgrave one question and she and her staff supposedly tried to have him removed. He called it, "My unreal night in Colorado - with radio link" (Thu Oct 26, 2006 at 08:05:14 PM PST). I'll say (from what I read) that it was his "unreal night".

As I said before in "Standing up and Admitting a Mistake: Not Schiavo's Style?",  if four uniformed officers were around my seat, I would have some idea of what was going on. I certainly wouldn't be sitting in "duh mode" to only be told later of what took place right there around me, as Michael suggests he was. If Michael's account is realistic -- his response and reaction is not. Nor is his response appropriate now that he has "learned" what he was "allegedly told" is not what took place. One would think if he can't get the words out that he was mistaken, he could at least have removed the inaccurate entry from his blog.

He has done neither.

I'm also still waiting to read about, "Also, maybe tomorrow I'll post about my election-eve rally with Bill Clinton in Florida." (A real election impact by Michael Schiavo, Thu Nov 09, 2006 at 10:40:34 AM PST).  Indeed, I would love to read that story by Michael, since I read it was not possible. Not if he was implying it was the Bill Clinton that is the former President of the United States. Will be interesting to see what he says about that if he ever does.

If Michael couldn't get it straight what happened at the Musgrave debate or even if he spent election-eve with former President Bill Clinton -- do you suppose he might have gotten Terri Schiavo's wishes mixed-up as well? (He does claim to have a bad memory from what I read.) Makes one wonder. At least makes me wonder. Whatever...

I'm still waiting for the corrections if not the explanations!

New York Times luvs Charlie Crist...

Anyone surprised?? Here is an excerpt:

........................

Mr. Crist called himself a “Jeb Bush Republican” on the campaign trail last year, but he is proving a far different leader than his highly ideological predecessor Mr. Bush. Some of his biggest proposals — to abandon touch-screen voting machines, for example, and let most felons easily regain voting rights after prison — are almost like a finger in Mr. Bush’s eye. Republicans have not complained — publicly, at least, nor have Democrats found much to protest.

Is this really Florida, where partisan division so vividly defined the presidential recount in 2000, the Terri Schiavo case in 2005 and Mr. Bush’s efforts to end racial preferences in state college admissions?

It is a different Florida, for now, led by a man who addresses every citizen he meets as “my boss” and gives his cellphone number to Democratic lawmakers who could not get Mr. Bush to return their calls. In an interview, Mr. Crist said he was not trying to remake the state as a bastion of centrism, but to carry out the will of its people, who he insists are not so politically divided after all.

Florida’s New Governor Steps Outside the Jeb Bush Mold

Surprise, surprise...Thread by wagglebee:

London, England (LifeNews.com) -- A new study in England find that widespread use of the morning after pill has done nothing to cut either abortion or pregnancy rates there. The research also shows that the use of the Plan B drug also did not lower the rates of sexually transmitted diseases.

Conducted by the Cochrane Library Review, the study looked at eight surveys of women conducted in the United States, India and China.

Study: Use of Morning After Pills Doesn't Cut Abortion, Pregnancy Rates

All the comparisons seem to break down. I get rage, not the suicidal duty / joy of an Islamicist bomber. In his planning, Cho was like Scott Peterson, not Michael Schiavo; but we don't find a rational motive like Peterson's. Cho had a child's mind, a leftist mind, evident in his fantasies and his blaming the world. Where was his father?

Yes, it is, but I'll be surprised if we are able to learn much. But then, if there's something fishy, there's nothing like an Internet investigation to let the happy couple know we're thinking about them.

I see it a bit differently, see Cho as robotically performing either as brainwashed in Montgomery Clift style in “Manchurian Candidate” or in something more akin to demonic possession, as if he turned his soul over to the devil some time ago. Perhaps he opened his mind wide to let true evil trickle in, maybe with computer games. I don’t see authentic rage even when he tries to portray it, more of an obedience to an evil force. In his videos, he looks like an actor from Central Casting...

His responses sound inappropriate, to him, maybe not to a guiding force. It is as if he were a sleeper remaining invisible and unapproachable until the time for his role unfolded. Maybe he was being prepared by real terrorists from over a long time as a probe. Maybe he was being prepared by his father of lies.

If I recall right, Michael said on Larry King that he felt good after pulling the plug on his parents. I wonder how much Jodi inherited.

Michael reminds me of Howard K. Stern.

Terri's sister fights for Emilio and a call to action...

...............................

Fighting for Emilio

What can be done to help keep Emilio alive?

When asked what Americans could do to help the Gonzales family, Vitadamo said, "If they know of a doctor and facility, that's what they desperately need now as they are looking to the grace of God." She would like to see "people calling hospitals across the country - even their personal physicians - there's got to be one out there."

Addressing the legal battle, Vitadamo said "Texas Right to Life has been working hard with the Futile Care Law; however, I'm not sure if anything will happen within one week."

Vitadamo said that possible changes to the Texas law could help by "extending the 10-day window or eliminating it altogether to allow families endless time for transfers."

Add your name to an online petition to keep the hospital from pulling the plug on Emilio by clicking here.

Vitadamo told CBN News that so far, no protests have been waged against the Brackenridge Children's Hospital's "ethics" committee. She noted that "It is good to stay on good terms with the hospital in order to facilitate a transfer," suggesting that there should be no hostilities.

Another way to be a voice for Emilio is by contacting Texas Governor Rick Perry.

Emilio is not alone

Are there other Emilios out there? Absolutely.

"Emilio's case is not unique, and similar cases are probably happening in Texas daily. They are happening across the country," explained Vitadamo. "Emilio got more attention because Catarina is standing up against the system."

She continued, "The Terri Schlindler Schiavo Foundation is contacted weekly about people being starved and dehydrated to death."

The battle has just begun

Who is winning the war concerning a patient's right to live?

According to Vitadamo, "Patient advocates are not winning the war. We need to continue the fight across the country, as we are not close to winning yet."

However, Vitadamo did say that there has been some progress since her sister's death two years ago.

"People are now speaking out more and can say they disagree," commented Vitadamo. "Families are more aware of the fact that doctors don't always know what's going on, and they can stand up more. In the past, people were more passive, but now they're more active."

One obstacle put in the way of patients' right to life came several years ago.

"Feeding tubes used to be called 'basic care,' but now, most states consider them artificial life support, making it more difficult for families to continue treatment," said Vitadamo, who believes that the fragility of one's life should not determine the quality or worth of one's life.

She told CBN News that Catarina and Terri Schiavo's parents are good examples to follow when fighting the system to save the lives of loved ones.

Pray for Emilio

After the latest extension, Texas Right to Life encouraged Americans to lift Emilio up in prayer.

"While God in His inscrutable ways is obviously at work here, please join us in prayer for Emilio's family, for all who are currently involved in Emilio's care and his transfer attempts, and most importantly, for Emilio's health. Additionally, please pray that all in our society will learn and remember that when one life, no matter how sick, small, or unloved is deemed futile, all human life is rendered valueless. Finally, please pray that all in the Pro-Life movement will be blessed with the courage to defend baby Emilio no matter what powers and principalities oppose us."

Haleigh Poutre update...

BOSTON -- Hampden County prosecutors asked a state appeals court judge to allow the release of sealed juvenile court records concerning a man charged with assaulting Haleigh Poutre.

Haleigh's stepfather -- 33-year-old Jason Strickland -- is scheduled for trial in June in connection with a beating that caused brain damage to the girl.

Hampden Juvenile Court Judge James Collins has agreed to release transcripts and other records from a juvenile court case to prosecutors in Strickland's criminal case.

Ellen Goodman... Goodman, oxymoron is thy name. I can only wonder if Ellen would have the moxie to watch either event up close, to fully grasp the effect and horror erupting from such thinking. One can dress up horrors with flowery words like choice and euphoria, but can that same person watch a living baby being executed in such manner, or Terri...??? Maybe.

.....................

May I remind you what else was happening on the very day in 2003 when Congress passed the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban. In Florida, the state Legislature passed a law that gave politicians the power to override Terri Schiavo's wishes and have her feeding tube reinserted.

Up and down the East Coast, under two Bush administrations — George and Jeb — politicians were playing doctor and God.

May I also remind you of the day President Bush signed the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban into law. The photo op had him surrounded by an all-male chorus line of legislators. These men were proudly governing something they never had: a womb.

The moment this procedure was dubbed "partial-birth abortion," pro-lifers won the PR war. They took women out of the picture, literally. The line drawings that illustrated congressional hearings often showed a headless woman bearing a perfect, healthy baby of six months' or more gestation.

My opinion Ellen Goodman : Court's chilling ruling deals women a blow

Will Charlie Crist help Marissa?? Should I hold my breath until he does?

..........................

If hope can come from tragedy, Dawn Amora found it in Terri Schiavo, then Martin Lee Anderson.

It was the discomforting optimism that feels a bit illicit because of its unintentional reliance on another's pain. But as a mother who adopted seven children, five with special needs, Dawn welcomes hope from any source - a smile from her autistic children, mild backtalk (a "fighting spirit") from her brain-damaged daughter "Mo-Mo," or, in the response to Terri Schiavo and Martin Anderson, a sign of concern from someone who can make a difference.

She felt sadness for Mary Schindler, whose adult daughter Terri Schiavo lay in a vegetative state for 15 years, reliant on a feeding tube, and for Gina Jones, whose 14-year-old son, Martin, was beaten to death by guards at a state-monitored juvenile boot camp.

But after then-Gov. Bush went to Congress in 2005 as part of a two-year effort to try to stop Terri Schiavo's husband from removing her feeding tube and Gov. Crist last month changed the rules of bureaucracy to offer Ms. Jones $5''million because of the unquestionable abuse by the Bay County boot camp guards, Dawn Amora could not help but hope: If the governor can help them, maybe, just maybe, he'll help Marissa.

An unconscionable delay goes on

This stream of "rationality" comes from none other than the Ayn Rand Institute...

The religious conservatives do not value actual human life; they are consistent followers of the Christian ideal that human life is properly lived in sacrifice to a supernatural being, and that suffering is proof of virtue. The worship of suffering is fundamental to Christianity, a religion whose central figure is glorified for dying a horrific death for the sins of mankind. Several years ago, a prominent religious conservative said of the Schiavo case, "Terry Schiavo . . . is suffering in obedience to God's will." He added: "Isn't suffering in pursuit of God's will the exact center of religious life?"

This is the culture of death--of living death.

Human life is sacred--not because of supernatural declaration, but because of the unique nature and glorious potential of the individual, rational human life: to think, to create, to love, to experience pleasure, to achieve happiness here on earth. A genuine culture of life would leave individuals free to pursue their own happiness--free from coercive injunctions to sacrifice themselves to religious dogma. Such a culture is what we must seek to create, as we do everything possible to fight religious conservatives' culture of living death.

The Religious Right's Culture of Living Death

Topics on the minds of the left, as in killing the innocents and banning them from defending themselves...

After a week that thrust gun control and abortion rights to the forefront on the Hill, Democrats are beginning to address both on multiple legislative tracks while liberal advocacy groups work to redefine the two often-incendiary issues.

~Snip~

Rather than tie the issue to gun control, Keenan connected abortion rights to stem cell research, the Patriot Act and the GOP’s Terri Schiavo intervention — examples in which she thinks Republicans “overstepped” and alienated the majority of voters.

“If you read the decision, it not only tolerates government interference, it applauds it,” said Jackie Payne, director of government relations for Planned Parenthood.

Similarly, gun control advocates have challenged lawmakers to take the partisan sting out of gun-rights measures and interpret the Virginia Tech violence as a call to action.

Wagglebee thread on another abortion lover fallen, in Canada:

More of calling good bad and calling bad good...

It was perhaps appropriate that those paragons of the leftist media establishment in Canada, the Toronto Star newspaper and the CBC, would christen as a “secular saint” a woman who stood solidly for such “sacraments” of the left as abortion and homosexuality. However, for those aware of those aspects of June Callwood’s history and her identification as one of the who’s who of Canada’s left, it was striking that The Star, the National Post and others conspicuously omitted mentioning her abortion and gay rights activism in their numerous articles on Callwood's passing.

Although Callwood was praised for a number of truly good things she did, Canadians of conscience might be forgiven for asking how her concerns for the poor, sick and downtrodden squared with her support for the slaughter of unborn living children. It is also difficult to justify her adamant support for the gay lifestyle that has led to many tragic deaths and spawned a movement that is greatly undermining natural married and family life.

Wagglebee thread on a revealing channel of donations to those who pull the strings...

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- A pro-life organization that serves as a watchdog for corporate donations to Planned Parenthood and other pro-abortion groups says the popular "American Idol" program is indirectly backing two organizations that endorse abortion.

Doug Scott, the head of Decisions International, said he's disappointed to learn that two pro-abortion groups are among the charities that will benefit from its "Idol Gives Back" project.

I am at a loss to know why juvenile court records are sealed from a prosecutor. Since when is it not public business when a child is beaten into a coma? It was a crime. If the evidence in the records incriminates Jason Strickland, that’s all the more reason to turn them over to the prosecutor.

Ellen Goodman is a partial-birth abortion survivor. The doc sucked her brains out, but nobody noticed. She is a poster girl for the brainless Left. She is living proof that if you stay mean and angry enough all the time, you never need a brain at all.

I can't make any sense out of this article. But catch this:

>> ...Moesha... had been beaten nearly to death under the negligent watch of the Florida Department of Children and Families.

Haleigh Poutre was beaten nearly to death under the equally negligent watch of the child protection agency in Massachusetts.

Are we beginning to get a picture?
