Once this belief is institutionalized and threat to all life enshrined legislatively, freedom will stand no chance whatsoever...every imposition will be supportable by the need to "save the earth." Global warming may or may not ever have any impact, the institutionalization of the political belief will cause it create a great dark age from which we won't escape for many, many generations.
Negotiations over a third and more difficult issue how much the sea level is predicted to rise by 2100 went into the night Thursday with a deadline approaching for the report.
What the hell kind of comedy is this? Monty Python skit? What a consensus! I'm like totally impressed with the consensusness of this consensus.
OK, so if we can't do anything about it, let's all go have
a drink and forget about all this Kyoto crap.
They didn't even get a phrased usually used by doctors. The dreded "Highly Likely". Global Warming is only very likely.
And for that matter, all the "scientific" hoaxes we've had to endure over the decades. And with one fraud and error after another, they still don't have a bit of cynicism. Maybe because the absence of global warming would be an "inconvenient truth."
So if it's unstoppable, does that mean we can stop with all the "emissions control" and Kyoto bullsh*t??
They have a hard enough time forecasting whether the weekend will be rained out or not; but they have 2100 all sewed up already. Oy vay...
Bring on global warming or I'm never going outside again!
One word: BULLSHIT
I gotta agree...that European government wage guarantee concept that's being discussed in Congress now is a beaut of an "avenue" that's coming up.
Aw sheese, do these people ever, ever quit? They just keep pounding and pounding and pounding this crap. Just like the freon refrigerants, the spray paint ozone hoe crap. I just get sick of it.
Interestingly, if you believe the IPCC (I don't), there's some good news buried in this "scary" report. Anyone who accepts the report as the truth must therefore also accept the claim that the warming is unstoppable, no matter how much humans control their pollution. Clearly that means that it would be a foolish waste of resources to put into place emissions caps, carbon credit trading, punitive taxes or fees, or any of the other extreme economy-killing measures that the Al Gores of the world have been pushing for.
After all, the report claims that the warming is unstoppable. What idiot (other than Al Gore) would advocate wasting resources in a futile attempt to stop something that is unstoppable... Rather, any resources that might be spent should be put towards mitigating the harmful effects of slowly rising sea levels, slowly increasing average temperatures, marginally increasing intensity of storms that are already large enough to do damage, and other small steps that can provide an effective response to the purported coming rise in global temperatures.
I'm a student, and I am inundated with these data from all my profs--conservative and liberal. I feel like most students are buying into it. Does anyone have any good sources that I can bring to counter this crap? They keep telling us that conservative scientists are on board with this, and I know the president agrees, so where's the other side? If both political sides are now running with this issue, what is left to do? Also what is their end game? What do they gain by selling this? i feel like dropping out of school...
Awww....geeeezzzzzz.....
Cute doggie pictures!!!!
If "Global Warming" is manmade who can it be "unstoppable"?
I've learned not to argue with the eco-nuts on this. You can't argue against religion with logic.
Two thoughts:
1. Good news that there is nothing we can do about it - no more need for Kyoto.
2. Global warming supporter Peter Ward (Univ Wash) writes that man-made global warming may delay the next ice age by 50,000 years. Alternatively, when the next ice age starts, humanity, according to Ward, may have to pump greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere to prevent it. He notes an ice age is the end to civilization as we know it - he is right on that point.
