I had the idea you were on the West Side from the Washington FR Groups' postings. That was some time ago. I was flying the Washington State Flag on my FR profile at that time.

I do spend a lot of time with family over there, so perhaps thats were that impression came from—but I am solidly and proudly an eastsider. So to be honest, I know immigration problems first hand. I have also seem some great American success stories.

Moved here at 6 months old and I've never left. I would have done myself harm if I'd known that in high school...but wouldn't trade it for the world now.

As far as illegal problems here, things were really bad in the mid/late nineties with lots of drive-bys and trouble at the high school. We still have our share of trouble, but nailed some high profile problems over the summer and things appeared to have calmed down considerably even before that.

Doesn't mean it won't flair up again, but for now it seems to be better.
