Yes, the new semester has started. The finals are over. The state exams are over. None of my current kids took those, but I did help grade them. Scores were surprisingly good.

I have some seniors this term who just want to graduate and should be cooperative, and I have a class that seems to be on the smart side. (It's only the first real day of teaching and it was review material, but it was still encouraging.)
