The gutless GOP senators and congressmen are almost as bad as the traitorous dems. A sad state of affairs.

When is that article on the "100 Worst U.S. Senators" supposed to come out? I wonder if there will be any surprises.
To: Emmett McCarthy
I can think of about 6 that are great. The rest are in a race to the top of that list.

We are all going to pay a terrible price for this. Of that, there is no doubt. We evidently lack the courage to purge the traitors and haters from our midst. History will not judge us kindly.

I swear everyone involved is doing their dead-level best to make Iraq another Vietnam. It's going exactly the way Vietnam went. While critics at home were decrying the war in the first place we began bombing supply routes in neighboring countries. But just like Vietnam it's going to be a half-hearted campaign because the need for PC will prevent us from doing what would have to be done to put an end to Iran's involvement in Iraq. And of course the MSM will find all sorts of innocent Iranians to complain about being bombed or shelled or shot at by US forces. And poll after poll will come out showing how unhappy every single American is with the war, not to mention polls from other countries, especially Iran, that reveal just how hated we are around the world. Meanwhile Dems in Congress will be on the floor bitching and moaning "Bush lied", etc.
Nope, it's just too much like Vietnam for my liking.
And what is so depressing is that it's like a bad dream, actually a nightmare, that you've had over and over. You know at every turn what's coming up next, everyone says not, but sure 'nuff that's exactly what happens.

At the rate we are going there will not be a history to judge us. We are storming down the road to self-destruction.

I agree. I think that it will be sooner rather than later.

Unless we get a Reaganesque leader at the top of the ticket to drag the GOP back to its proper place, we are gonna be in trouble.

I'm with you on the Vietnam analogy only as far as the Left is concerned. The war is going reasonably well by my calcualtions and is very winnable, even within Bush's balance of his term.

When I say it's going like Vietnam I am referring to the Left explicitly! The same play book, but this time they are being so much more overt and making no pretense of hiding their hate for our troops, etc.

I can name three. Senator Sessions, Senator Coburn, Senator Kyl.

Others in the good column would be Allard, Chambliss, Cornyn, Inhofe, McConnell, and Shelby. Probably a couple others, but after that, its slim pickens.

The senators are a reflection of their constituencies.

Sometimes yes, other times no. Jesse Helms and John Edwards served at the same time. Night and day.
