Not worth listing to. Like I said, let the FBI decide if it's important or not.
You did a good job in raising their flag.
Let them wonder who did it and if they will return.
I find it so strange that people on this forum think the terrorist threat is a joke.
There has been a lot going on in Boston that never reaches the newspapers. During the last heightened alert planes were scrambled over two cities, Boston was one of them.
I guess it's fun to make fun of an entire city - if none of your relatives sat in traffic for 4 hours and you're sitting comfortably in Twin Bluffs, North Dakota.
I'm beginning to think there are more gentlemen over at DU than at FR.
I'm sure DU has no gentlemen at all. But I don't care for the abusive personalities I have seen on this thread.
Yeah, but, but, if they're not committing a crime by buying the phones, how about convicting them of buying low and selling high, thereby making a profit? ;^)
councilor
As far as I'm aware, I've never been a member of a council.
Talk about ROTFL.
If they buy the phones for $20 and sell them for $40, after deducting the cost of gas and hotels, that's not bad money.
Buy 1K phones for $20K, sell at $40K, that's a nice little business.
I went over to DU today after reading some really rude posts here at FR.
Believe it or not, their discussion was more civilized.
I was surprised.
Hey, struggle, you did the right thing. No harm in having someone check this out. I haven't read all of the comments on this thread, but I do know that there are people in the Jackson area who are worth watching. For those of you who have scoffed at this, there's a mosque in Jackson that you should visit if you're in the area. It might open your eyes.
Now let me get this straight. Who destroyed those hotels, and why?
Were they destroyed because two 9/11 hijackers stayed in them?
Were they bulldozed and then salt strewn on the bare earth so nothing would ever grow them again?
Funny recording. Have any idea where it came from?
These are real weapons (IEDs). Keep your eyes peeled for them if you must. Personally I don't live anywhere dirty enough that you could hide one of these. Jackson must be a different story.
Please, Free Republic is a group of adults. Such foolish posts reflect poorly on everyone here.
"These are real weapons (IEDs). Keep your eyes peeled for them if you must. "
Don't see the Tracphones ...
"Personally I don't live anywhere dirty enough that you could hide one of these."
In that case I wouldn't walk anywhere near the garbage cans.
I do believe the trained agents of the FBI are better equipped than any of us when it comes to deciding what is- or isn't- a waste of their investigatory time.
They don't HAVE to follow up on the granny on a pogo stick speaking a weird language if she doesn't fit their definition of a threat. Neither do they HAVE to follow up ( and waste precious time and resources) on this report if they consider it harmless.
Is it that you think the FBI is stupid, or is it any distrust of Middle Eastern men that bothers you so?
The report of a concerned citizen costs nothing.
The lack of vigilance can cost lives- perhaps even your own.
I must have missed that. Could you point me to a thread where this has been downgraded to a non-threat? I am being serious.
Last I heard, the phones were being used by Middle Easterners for covert communications and as remote detonating devices. I did not know that these practices were passe.
It was going around the net back in December and a lot of people linked to it. The original site that it was linked from is now gone, but I had saved a copy. I'm not sure who the guy in it is. But he's a loon that's for sure. The original filename was "dec_07_2006.mp3" which if you Google for, you can find references to. There was even a thread here.
Yes, indeed we are...
