Given that there is no one GOP hopefull that satisfies both the conservative and moderate/Rino wings of the party, I fear that the DemocRats are assured of a White House victory in 2008. The GOP will likely spawn a third party and it will be all over except for the coronation
of the Rat candidate.

A rhetorical question to all. Has the political thought process of the nation shifted so far to the left and middle that Barry Goldwater type conservatism can no longer
win a national election?

As to Ann Coulter, she is entitled to her opinions,
but does she really have any influnce with the power
structure or voting base of the GOP ?

I think we just have a dearth of candidates this year, that's all. Only two Governors are running for President (Romney and Huckabee) the first is a "former" (as in six month ago) liberal who gave his state HillaryCare and the other is a tax raiser. Any other year, they'd be second-tier candidates. I don't think it's anything permanent, but I do think there's a bit of leadership vacuum in the GOP of late.

Not too many months ago Ann was in love with Harold Ford. Wishing he was a republican so she could vote for him.

Ann's opinion is just that. Her opinion....which is flawed IMO

Barry Goldwater was massively dismissed and it is REAGAN CONSERVATISM, that the movement should be named. Reagan jettisoned much of Barry's rhetoric and talking points.

We need to work on the women, especially the single women. The Democrats are like whispering street roues who can make young virgins as well as married dames spread their legs with soft spoken flattery and promises they have no intention to keep!

It seems we have no way of making truth palatable to women when the Democrats promise them the glories of a secure socialist "nest" like state! Look at what they promise...fairness,finacial security without the exercise of personal responsibility, freedom from violance, enforced "politeness". These are instinctively women's issues who tend to respond to them much like a hostage who adapts by going "Stockholm Syndrome"; so what if we lose freedom at least we get equal access to "health care" even if increasingly meagre.

I'm afraid we're going to lose our republic for a generation or so; then again millions of womanless Chinese soldiers might look upon our "woman run" society as a tempting target to invade!
