Riyadh (dpa) - A Saudi husband has called for his wife's ears and nose tip to be cut off as punishment for her throwing acid at his face, the state-run al-Watan newspaper reported Thursday.
It said the man's own ears and the tip of his nose had to be surgically removed as a result of the attack. He then underwent cosmetic surgery.
Al-Watan quoted the wife as saying: ``One year ago I had enough of my husband's abuse and harshness, which made me throw the acid at his face.''
A Saudi judge has already sentenced the wife to two years imprisonment - but the husband believes this is not enough, the report said.
The court adjourned the case, waiting to see if the husband insists on the ``eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth'' vengeance. If so. the case would be heard by the general court, the report said.
I guess in Saudi Arabia it's still an ear for an ear.
Well if they all kill each other then our our lives are safer.
WWJBD?
I wonder what John Wayne Bobbitt would have asked for Lorena's sentence.
Why can't he just wear a mask and write opera?
Or tour with Michael Jackson?
LOL!
More love and tolerance from the religion of peace
Their handbook for all existence doesn't allow for independent artistic freedom.
All of these Muslim barbaric believers in torture need to be deported, depapered and denounced by the civilized world, put on a slow boat out of the country and never heard from again. This happening is a story out of the dark ages!
I worked in Saudi Arabia from 81-85 for the Army COE. The Saudi Sharia law is based on eye for an eye. However, what generally results is the payment of "blood money." For example if you ran over a male Saudi, you would have to negotiate with his family to pay "blood money" so you would not be punished. The amount for women is half than for a man, and for an infidel half than for a Muslim. In one case we heard of a man had killed another Saudi and the only surviving family members were minor children. They kept the guy in jail until all the children were of majority age, and they all had to agree to blood money rather than eye for an eye.
