It matters because the MSM will now be able to say that even those on the right of the political spectrum see we have lost in Iraq......
But they need to be asked how they will stop the kind of Chaos that Al-Queda can deliver like this latest episode in England:

This is ridiculous. The next time a mailing comes in begging for money for the NRSC or RNC it's going back with a message about these RINO Senators and Congressman that would rather weaken the president and embolden the terrorists, then stand up to the Democrat thugs, not one dime. Disgusting.

The Free Congress Foundation, as indicated by their asinine "analysis" as posted, seems to be nothing more than a Buchananite, isolationist "foundation" who is marching in lock step with liberals to badmouth our mission in Iraq, a mission which will ultimately be seen as one of the best commitments our nation ever made.

Anybody have an updated vote count on RINO defectors?
Starting at 50 Dems (assuming that Lieberman votes against the resolution):
+1 Snowe (ME)
+1 Collins (ME)
+1 Hagel (NE)
+1 Warner (VA)
+1 Smith (OR)
+1 Coleman (MN)
+1 Brownback (KS)
+1 Specter (PA)
+1 Voinovich (OH)
59 votes for cloture
Warner is targeting Sen. Gregg (R-NH) which would make for 60 votes. Also undecided are Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Sen. Alexander (R-TN).
Anybody have a different sense of the vote?

That's pretty funny!
This whole charade is nothing but a farting contest!

I don't know what else to say that hasn't been expressed before by many. We re-iterate until the sun goes down and then raises yet again. When Senators and Representatives feel their jobs may be at stake, they will hang their own mother to stay in for the perks and nice benefit programs. They will sell this country out time in and time again.
I see as many here, the writing on the wall. What the POTUS has proposed as a long term objective of this country and all that subscribe to similiar sentiments on controlling the spread of Islamicfacism, simply cannot be expected to be appreciated by most.
They rather everything appear nice and warm and fuzzy. Few are willing to faced the stark realities brought to a head by the atttacks of 9/11.

It would be nice if Senator Warner worked hard at his own job instead of trying to do the Presidents.
"It's been a hard work in progress," Warner said of his resolution, which has been struggling to win support of 60 senators so as to prevent a filibuster.

I just laugh when I see them working so head, sweating bullets, over a non-binding resolution.
Still, Rove and the White House crew must be getting some laughs out of this. And, provided the Senate wastes enough time on it, this is probably good for the country. Otherwise, the Dims would have more time available to do real damage to the economy or the military.

Indeed you need to start with 49 democrats since Senator Tim Johnson is ill and Lieberman is on our side when it comes to winning the war in Iraq.

ANY Republican Senator who votes for RINO Warner's resolution is NOT going to receive a cent from me and I will gladly help drive their worthless rear ends from office. End of story.

None of them should receive ANY support from the base. Its bad enough to see the Democrats betray this country but to see gutless Republicans vote against victory is more than even I can take. Rest assured the party's Senate campaign will not have my suppprt in 2008 if they vote to denounce our own country at this critical time in our history.

Supporting Iraqis committed to national leadership requires recognizing al Qaeda terrorists and Baathist remnants cannot win, but Coalition partners and Iraq can loose. Rival death squads attack only unarmed civilians. Al-Sadrs militia crumples in military operations. Al-Muhajir, al Qaedas leader in Iraq, boasts 22,000 followers, but conducts only terrorist operations, and those within limited areas. Ho Chi Minh and Vo Nguyen Giap would reject such pathetic allies, when compared to the VC main force units, which ARVN forces still obliterated in the militarily ill-timed Tet offensive. Loss for Iraq and the Coalition occurs through inconsistent application of classic counter-insurgency measures.
The President describing future actions referred to accrediting people and tactics for that winning strategy. Providing security precedes hearts and minds initiatives, because without that priority people align themselves to whichever violent faction accepts them each day. Selected areas are saturated with Coalition forces, and Iraqi forces imbedded with Coalition advisors. Once neighborhoods are cleared of terrorists and insurgents, military units remain, political/sectarian influence is not tolerated, and police, civil units and sheiks assume authority as they demonstrate commitment to national objectives.
Prime Minister Maliki may now understand viable national government requires harsh emergency rules impartially, and transparently administered. Informal alliances with parties such al-Sadr applies to traditional authoritarian oriental rule, and not representative government.
People will choose national identity and representative government, if national institutions provide security and then contribute to economic well-being. Resolving this situation requires application of will, not extraordinary intellect.
