How about a cane? I've got a bad knee and hip; I wouldn't be able to stand or walk all day without some kind of assistance.
And how about at the edge of the Memorial grounds? My idea for a sign was one that said:
Honor the Dead
NO POLITICS BEYOND THIS POINT
Respect this Memorial
...And to stand at the edge of the Memorial grounds.
