Kind of interesting they made the union meet at the Toyota Arena, the only unionized assembly plant used by Toyota in the United States is the plant in Fremont, California, operated by its joint venture with General Motors Corp. Must bristle them to have to negotiate there...

Any word on what the sticking points were.
IMO H-D should relocate to a RTW state like Florida.

Harley strikes York plant That's an odd way to phrase it. How about, "Union strikes York Harley plant." ?

Maybe they can recruit some of those fine ladies who attend Bike Week to fill in during the strike.

"Discussions on the proposed labor contract began at 9 a.m. today in the Toyota Arena at the York Expo Center, where the members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local 175 met." Am I the only one who noticed this?

STUPID STUPID STUPID......
Harley is finally gaining more market share and putting itself into the mainstream of bike owners, pulling in lots of baby boomers who are really enjoying their rides in the countryside.
Unions just keep ketting dumber and dumber. One would think the troubles in the American auto industry would give them a wake up call. What a waste of a brain cell.
To: nowings
I didn't know that Harley was unionized. As a former union employee, I'm glad I never owned a Harley, and for sure, will not as long as these thugs infest the manufacuring floors of HD.

The bikes aren't that important. What would really hurt harley fans is if the Malaysian sweatshops stopped producing the Official Harley Licensed gear. THAT would be a DISASTER if the druggie-looking people couldn't get their OFFICIALLY LICENSED leather do-rags.
