The "Dry Run" claims largely seem to come out when people get frustrated and disappointed when something they hoped was a possible terrorist attack turns out not to be.

Hmmm... Please clarify this. Do you believe that people on this forum are "hoping" for a terrorist attack?

In the overwhelming majority of cases, examining the facts of the situation, it ends up having made no logical sense whatsoever for said incident to be a dry run and no conceivable benefit to any sort of terrorists.

This may be true, however you have not left out the possibility that this may have been in preparation for a terrorist attack. While, of course, I have no inside knowledge whether or not this was indeed a dry run, the facts as dictated indicate it is, at the least, a possibility.

Explicitly consciously? No. Semi-consciously and subconsciously? Of course, and it's pretty obvious when you read the innumerable number of threads like these.

We don't get to have people rioting going around burning Mosques and we don't (as people think) get to NOOK MECCA unless there's another major Muslim terrorist attack within the country - and the waiting is driving people that want to see both of the above happen nuts.

Look at how desperately people cling to the possibility that some incident or accident or in this case, apparent hoax was connected to Muslim terrorism and how upset they get at anyone suggesting otherwise.
