Witness says 30 or 40 people detained
HUMBLE, TX) - If you live in north Harris County and your heavy trash didn't get picked up today, there may be a reason. An immigration investigation is underway at a Republic Waste facility in Humble.
The raid began very early this morning and dozens of Republic Waste workers are being questioned.
According to witnesses, federal agents arrived at around 6am and immediately assembled all of the employees in one area in the rear of the facility. There, they began questioning workers and checking their drivers' licenses and social security cards.
Immigrations and Customs Enforcement and sheriff's department officials brought in several buses, presumably to transport undocumented workers.
One employee spoke to us through a fence at the facility. He said that Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officials separated people by using wrist bands and he says they detained 30 or 40 people.
"They questioned everybody," said truck driver Joe Rozema. "We have these blue bands and then the yellow bands are people who don't have the right documentation."
Rozema also says officials also questioned people about the previous management at Republic Waste.
Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officials aren't saying much about this investigation and also aren't saying how many people were detained.

30 down, 29,999,970 illegals to go.
Interesting how that first statement in the article is meant to scare the good folk of Humble into thinking that they'd better leave the hard working illegals be or they'll never get their garbage picked up. I'm sure there's more than enough legal citizens who would jump at the job. Mr. M worked on a garbage truck back in high school. Not glamorous but it paid the bills.
