I was watching him walk through the floor, shaking hands. My guess was that he was flanked by Secret Service only behind and maybe to the left of him. My dad said they're all Republicans/Conservatives at the NYSE, so he had nothing to fear.

The CNBC reporter on the floor was flanking the President trying to ask if CEO's are paid too much? What a moron!

Guess he figured that if his enemies are going to paint him as a tool of big business anyway, he might as well make the best of it.

Bush should have turned to him and asked if he thought four hags making five mil each doing a awful morning talk show is too much.

My guess was that he was flanked by Secret Service only behind and maybe to the left of him. The security the workers at the exchange go thru just to get to the floor is about the same as a person entering a White House Dinner - quite intense. I'm sure his ss detail was present, but not on high alert.

I remember seeing video of Reagan opening trading one day during his presidency. The crowd went nuts when he stepped up, and a huge roar erupted when he rang the bell.

We should ask the CNBC reporter if he is as a stupid journalist is paid too much. We should ask the CNBC reporter why an NBC or CBS or ABC anchor get paid 10 million dollars a year just to read from a teleprompter for 20 minutes from Monday to Friday.

FoxFan ping!
Sorry, I don't have time to post a new thread... Watch "Your World with Neil Cavuto" today at 4pm ET (repeats at 5am ET tomorrow). Neil will have an exclusive interview with President Bush. Check out the cool photo in #9 of Dubya on the floor of the NYSE... he was there about an hour ago.
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my FoxFan list. *Warning: This can be a high-volume ping list at times.

My dad said they're all Republicans/Conservatives at the NYSE, so he had nothing to fear. I wish that were true.
However, since I take a ferry to work every morning that is crammed full of NYSE specialists, I can say that conservatives may have a slight numerical edge in the NYSE, but that's it.

Good timing. Look at the DOW. Another new high. Straight up since 2:00.
