New Delhi (dpa) - The new rail link between Lhasa and China was bringing beggars and prostitutes into Tibet and destroying the region's Buddhist culture, Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama said in the western Indian town of Mumbai Wednesday, according to reports.
``Beggars and the handicapped are coming to Lhasa in huge numbers. China is also forcing prostitutes to go to Lhasa, leading to the increased danger of AIDS,'' the Dalai Lama said at a religious gathering, IANS news agency reported.
He termed the 1,142-kilometre railway link the ``second invasion of Tibet.''
``In the past few months alone, some 5,000 to 6,000 Chinese have come to Tibet by rail and only 2,000-3,000 have gone back. Those job-seekers who are finding it difficult to get jobs in China are heading for Lhasa,'' he said.
He said Beijing was also forcing poor villagers to relocate in Tibet. ``We are also concerned over the environmental impact of the rail link,''
I insulted you. That's a good one.
You called my knowledge into question.
You called my teacher into question.
I gave simple statements of fact in direct response to your accusations and inferences of lying. Is that what you call bragging? As far as the insults you set the tone with your first post on this thread. Then you insulted another poster who was simply responding to you. Then after a reasonable challenge from me on your 'facts' you launched into insults. Reap what you sow.
I am not a Buddhist, but I've studied it in college.I'm not as familiar with Tibetian Buddhism as the other two schools.
But then I am not a Buddhist or Tibetian so I am not very knowledgeable about the ins and outs of this.

I suppose you thought you could insult me, infer that I was a liar a few times and pretend that you know more about what's in my mind than I do and I wouldn't defend myself?!? That is the mind of an arrogant elitist. Now you have the audacity to once again place yourself in judgment of me, my teacher and his teachings. Who are you? What was the name of this fantastic college course you took that imparted all-knowing judgment on you?
Well the Dali Lama is strongly against violence. So instead of resisting the takeover of his country (which he was the head of state of until 1955 or so) he fled. Ane encouraged everyone else not to fight. This is what happens when you surrender without a fight!
(Again, I think there is a near 100% correlation between: pacificists, American Buddhists, followers of the Dali Lama, and people with "Free Tibet" stickers on their Volvos and Suburus.)
What you meant to say is you expect Buddhists to surrender to you when you say so. You're a hypocrite. You come on this thread defining what Buddhists ought to be and when anyone challenges that you attack even more viciously. Did you turn the other cheek? Or is your teacher a fraud? Strike that last question. It's the question of a coward and a fanatic elitist punk. I would prefer not to emulate you. Besides, if one knows the student one knows the teacher. Now you know my teacher doesn't take crap from Jack Asses, punk. : )
Your 'statements of fact' included calling me the folowing names:
arrogant ass
coward
hypocrite
fanatic elitist punk
arrogant elitist
weasel faced little gitwort
pissant book learned loudmouth
crap throwing monkey
Knock off the personal attacks, please. Thanks.
Sorry. I'll let it drop.
