yeah, they tend to give me migraines. I have some in my house only where there is a diffuser over the light. The light equivalence is severely overrated also. I have GE CFLs, and they don't match the claims upthread about being good incandescent replacements.
The 60W equivalent bulbs are about equivalent to a 40W bulb lumens-wise from this person's perspective. They also don't lend well to any detailed inspection work on electronics or other detail work.
