Kagen: Nothing to apologize for in White House visit
By Tim Ryan, Leader Reporter U.S. Rep. Steve Kagen said Friday he is sorry the controversy surrounding his comments about a White House visit last year has created what he called a distraction, but said he has done nothing for which he feels the need to apologize.
I havent acted in a way that requires an apology, Kagen told a Leader reporter during a visit here Friday.
The brouhaha that has blown up in recent weeks surrounds comments Kagen made Dec. 19 to a group of peace activists that were reported in The Scene, a monthly entertainment publication that circulates in the Fox Valley.
During that meeting, Kagen gave his account of a gathering at the White House for new members of Congress after the November election.
I tried to relate in that meeting what happened accurately. Kagen said. I think that I did.
But, Kagen said, his account did not translate well on the printed page.
If Ive mishandled anything, Ive mishandled the press, Kagen said. Ive mishandled the entire opportunity to put something down as just a comedic moment.
Kagen said Friday that he did mistakenly refer to first lady Laura Bush as Barbara, though other published accounts have had him making the mistake intentionally.
I did mistakenly refer to Mrs. Bush as Barbara, Kagen said. There wasnt anything disrespectful about it and its been mischaracterized completely.
Kagen also confirmed his comments to White House counsel Karl Rove, saying it was true that he said: Im Dr. Multi-millionaire and I kicked your a--.
And how exactly is what Kagan claims to have done anything than the 'politics of personal destruction'? Was this the 'new tone of civility' that the Democrat Party promised us?
He's just a lying liberal trying to impress the other children.
OK, Dr. Multi-millionaire, if you say so.
How's the allergy business?
Kagan is an arrogant, self righteous jerk. The people up in his district deserve what they get. John Gard was no prize, but he was a lot better than Kagan could ever hope to be.
Hopefully Kagan will be explaining himself to a judge in the near future.
I live in Kagen's district, and believe me we got our share of idiots who only care about the next Packers game.
Yea, I'm aware of that.......I am fortunate to live in Sensenbrenner's district.
Really this video of him says it all. He has some kind of Chuck Norris complex.

Kagen is so lame, he isn't worth a comment.
Doesn't that qualify as a comment?
;)
