However, really, most people DON'T need a/c here, no matter what Savage says. I don't have a/c and we survive the summers just fine. The fog comes in nearly every night in the summer and cools things down. Housing's much cheaper here in the Midwest, Tamar. You'd just love our summers. We bake at night (thank goodness for central air!), but (so far) the past few winters have been pleasantly mild. Although, temps dipped below zero last night.

I used to live in Southern Illinois and although the winters are not that bad, the summers were hot, humid, sticky. I don't think I could go back to that after living out here for nearly 10 years.
