VISTA CAPABLE
800MHz processor
512Mb memory
BULL$#|T! It's true, and it will run as fast as Windows 3.0 in safe mode, with just as much stability.
Bill Gates wouldn't lie to you, now, would he?
To: N3WBI3

I'm going to buy it just because I hate the winer MS haters.
Linux is not robust, and Mac sucks- it just flat out sucks. Mac is tiny and feels confining. The apps suck when they are not made by MS for Mac and it cost more.

OH....Ubuntu....I always have trouble with that one....
wiki.ubuntu.com/install.
"Summary
The installation of Ubuntu is a major barrier to its spread and use. This project aims to solve this problem by allowing installation from within Windows using an install.exe file, and eliminating the need to partition the hard drive or burn a CD to install. It will allow a faster and more user-friendly installation for Windows users, the ability to install without the risk of data loss through repartitioning, and the ability to install on ultra-portable laptops without CD drives."

"Linux is not robust"
Now that's the funniest thing I've read so far on this thread.

I like Ubuntu (free). Much easier to install that Windows. Tons of (free) applications.

I like Edubuntu also. But again, the free ware is not even close to being as robust as MS Office or Macromedia.

Office is TOO robust for me. They could charge a lot less for a lot less product, please.

That's up to and including having the OS delete what *IT* considers to be "malicious" programs off your computer. Wow, an electronic Blockleiter for my hard drive.
No thanks.

These are the same people who said XP Home would be useful with 64mb.
In other words, liars.

I have had eight machines running XP here, and have NEVER seen a blue screen,XP is, in my experience, the most stable version of Windows that Microsoft has released to date. I have managed to get the BSOD a few times: I took a laptop out of its dock without properly using the disconnect feature (my bad, admittedly) and a few random times when running it on VMWare server.
Now, Windows ME was really just a pig in lipstick,
Agree wholeheartedly. I hope I never have to use that OS again as long as I live.

Mr Gates also defended the pricing of Vista, which is twice as expensive in Europe compared to the US.... Maybe they decided to roll the EU legal fees and fines into the price of the product.
