Last sentence: Largest cemetary? 250 ashes from cremations?

What kind of sentence structure is that?

I think they meant ashes from 250 cremations.

250 ashes wouldn't be as much as a single cigarette.

Yup. I saw that. English writers are getting as bad as American writers.

More like Oktoberfest. The Germans put up temporary "tents" (made of steel) to provide sheltered areas for eating and drinking.

There must have been some facility for storing large amounts of food and drink for the crowd. The well-kept houses might have been for the "priestbrewers":

Beer brewing ‘formed part of Neolithic ceremonies’

Without modern technology to build huge vats, only a few gallons of beer could be made at a time. Starting with the fall harvest, it could have taken months to brew the necessary amount. This perhaps explains the "Decemberfest" timing.

Preserving the beer against premature consumption would have required extraordinary measures: perhaps it was stored in a "sacred" location and access was only allowed during the solstice.

>"It is the richest - by that I mean the filthiest - site of this period known in Britain"

There's a Druid man with a Druid cat
Living in a Druid neighbourhood
Hes got megaliths running through his front yard
You know, he thinks that he's got it so good
And there's a woman in the kitchen cleaning up the evening slop
And he looks at her and says: Hey, darling,
I can remember when you could stop a clock

Oh, but ain't that Stonehenge
For you and me
Ain't that Stonehenge
We're something to see, baby
Ain't that Stonehenge
Home of the free
Little pink stone houses
For you and me

4,600 years from now archaeologist just might find important info from our rubbish on the floor. I am thinking about the good for future mankind and what they can learn.

According to to Wikipedia - A vacuum is a volume of space that is essentially empty of matter.

So what is the problem?

These ancient peoples died out because they were bad hunters.

Great article.
But unlike the houses further down the valley, these were free of rubbish: "At first we thought they had been washed out," Professor Thomas said.
But the researchers now think these dwellings were deliberately kept clean and could have been home to community leaders, wise women, chiefs or priests.

I love it..housing for the elite and the rabble live with the masses. Some things never change. :)

"We've never seen such quantities of pottery and animal bone and flint."

They've obviously never been in the parking lot prior to a Philadelphia Eagles home game.

Sarum was one of the best books I have ever read. Rutherford is truly gifted.

"The dwellings were made of wood, with a clay floor and central hearth. The archaeologists found 4,600-year-old rubbish covering the floors of the houses."

"Don't worry about cleaning up...its a rental!"

Every place I travel, I do something absolutely wicked...Hide my own map research drawings behind wall mirrors, carve dates into stones...backdating 200 years.

Cool fun...someone will discover the "stuff" someday. Hope they don't make any money from my adventures.
