Figures. You speak from ignorance on the subject.
You should be a Democrat.

I notice BTS pings others so they can also come on this thread and bash Savage over a HORSE, ............... I noticed that too, and it didn't endear me to him My heart is broken that you aren;t "endeared". LOL
All those who I pinged to my post were FReepers who had gone through months with Barbaro on dozens of Barbaro threads. I wanted them to see the callousness of one of our talkshow hosts. It didn't matter that it was your beloved Savage.
The point I was making was the incredibly uninformed cynicism and ignorance (sometimes) of the people who are our talkshow hosts.
It had little to do with dear Michael.
Don't sweat it.

Now, now BTS, you admitted that you are OVERLY sensitive when it comes to the well-being of animals which explains your post #105 and your pinging of other FReepers to come here and bash Savage about it. But then you mislead people to make it sound as if Savage was being "cruel" and "callous" to this horse when that wasn't the case at all.
How does questioning the integrity of the horse's caretakers make Savage cruel and callous toward the horse? I'm sure there are those who probably feel the horse should've been put down long ago. Would you call that opinion cruel and callous too?
I was just amazed at your reaction to this horse issue and wasn't quite sure what to make of your intensity to it. However I can see clearly now.

Hey whatever happened to Ken Hamblin, the Black Avenger? Remember him?

pinging of other FReepers to come here and bash Savage about it.Don't be stupid. They were not pinged to "bash" Savage.

Seems to me they let that horse suffer for a long time, before finally putting it out of it's misery. Not sure if that was compassionate and I'll bet $$ was some part of that decision to put it off. You hit the nail right on the head, Chani. This horse was bred to win and generate millions for the owner, not to be loved as a pet. And when it was finally decided that said horse couldn't be rehabilitated from its leg injury, it was put out of its misery. Which, by the way, begs the question in placing strain on that part of a horse's anatomy. A product of breeding, a race horse's ankle is extremely susceptible to breakage under the stress of prolonged force. If anything, these so-called "horse lovers" should be against this sort of extreme physical punishment to the animal.
I think comedian Gallagher said it best when he quipped that it isn't the horse that wants to race; it's the little sh*t on its the back with the whip.

Without getting into the nuances of this horse and its history, I'm only saying that #105 was just a bit much considering it was just a HORSE we're talking about considering all the other issues that's going on in our country today that we can get outraged about, irregardless if Savage's comments about the horse's caretakers were right or wrong. Then in addition to the post I notice BTS pings others so they can also come on this thread and bash Savage over a HORSE, A HORSE? Priorities people!!!
As the scent of common sense wafts across the thread...

Good point Tark, I wonder if breeding horses to race so people could gamble and make millions is what God had in mind for us as caretakers of them. I can only imagine what is done to MAKE them run faster and faster for our enjoyment. Methinks PETA might even have a problem with that.

At least human athletes have the choice of abusing their bodies for our spectating pleasure. BTW, how many Barbaro fans here on FR have actually ridden a horse, I wonder? I have, several times, when I was younger. But the horses I rode weren't pushed beyond their limits, like their race brethren.
