But, if I come to you and say that there is a couple that hates you so much that they will kill their six month old baby in order to kill you, I am describing a level of ferocity, and a level of savagery beyond anything we have tried to deal with.Excellent point.

Just goes to show that text without context is a pretext. He was referring to the ABUSE of free speech. IN no way does eavesdropping violate freedom of speech (privacy maybe...). If I advocate or plan to bomb or otherwise kill people, then that is not free speech - that is actions directly related to committing a crime.

It seems to be a central theme with these people.
They hate more than they love their children.

It's not going to be pretty. We've past the point where we could protect ourselves with reasonable steps and moved into an area where it's going to take some very strong medicine to cure us.
And if we don't find the will to use this medicine our children and grandchildren are going to curse the ground we walked on because they are living under regimes that are a thousand times worse than the MSM/Lefties are telling us George Bush is.
During the civil war they had to tie patients down to amputate limbs in hope of saving the patient's life. We are rapidly approaching that point in our efforts to save our country and our way of life. We have no choice, at some point we are going to be forced to restrain the enemy within if we have any hope of passing on to our children a country that even remotely resembles what America was and can be again.

Maybe because Newt is speaking more and more presidential and they have no idea how to defend against something like that.

As usual, Newt speaks the truth whether we want to face it or not.
If we wait for a city to be nuked by terrorists, we will see massive reaction to such an event that will result in serious restrictions on our constitutional rights and a huge backlash against middle eastern people in the US. They will be rounded up, deported, or worse.
This is a fact that Muslim leaders in this country are not willing to face. By not being an active part of preventing terrorism in this country, they will be complisit in any future acts of terrorism- and rightfully so!!

I don't see anyone on the national scene right now I agree more with. Here's someone I think the pubbies could rally around, and move things forward.
As much as pubbies could rally around anything actually. Or actually move things together.

When he does, he has my vote, if nothing else, on this speech alone.
This man and Guiliani seem to be the only ones who really understand that civilization is truly in a fight for survival, and they are also the only ones willing to keep telling people. I believe him, and I believe this country has been infiltrated by Muslims over the last 40 years in preparation for an all-out war with the American way of life.

"we will adopt rules of engagement that use every technology we can find to break up their capacity to use the internet, to break up their capacity to use free speech"
He is right to ask for dialog, or a set of parameters to be outlined BEFORE its too late.
Particularly, the Freedom of Speech right has been abused not only by the terrorists themselves, but also by the drive by media who with every story they seemingly embolden our enemies.
So far Newt has got my vote.
