January 19, 2007—Congressman Ted Poe requests previously unreleased information on the case from the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) under the Freedom of Information Act after the OIG reneged on a 2006 agreement to provide an investigative report to Rep. Poe and other members of the Texas Congressional Delegation.

Congressman Poe’s efforts on behalf of Agents Ramos and Compean

Thank goodness for Michael McCaul, Ted Poe, Walter Jones, et al.
I hope they don't let up until all information is released.

"The skin is beginning to peel off this rotting beached whale."

Indeed it is.

However, the criminal prosecution and jailing of these two agents is entirely consistent with Bush administration policy regarding illegal aliens.

The party-above-principle Big Tent GOP may never recover from the illegal alien/open borders issue. They deserve all of the harsh criticism they have been getting.

And it isn't going to stop.

Add in the joke of a sentence Sandy Berger got and your post is perfect.
I've been saying since the Dubai Ports deal, this Administration is doing everything it can to insure Mrs. Clinton will be Dubya's replacement.

What were missing are the transcripts from the trial. This way we could determine what testimony was and wasn't allowed. Things we consider important may not been introduced in court due to the judges ruling. the defense may not have been allowed to present their case.

I sat on a court martial and due to pre trial negotiations, certain evidence was not allowed. I always felt there was more to the case then we heard.

And we are suppose to be surprised that the "system" including the current administration, would do anything to protect the flow of illegals and drugs across the border?

It is all a conspiracy - our National Guard members on the border are not allowed to engage the illegals. The Border Patrol has their hands handcuffed as far as enforcement if the lawbreakers pose a threat (can no-longer use deadly force for fear of their jobs and their very freedom).

So what else can we do? America is doing all it can to assimilate into Hispanic culture...uh... wait...

Would it change your opinion if you learned (as the White House and Prosecutor Sutton don't want you to know) that supervisors came on the scene shortly after and were informed directly, live, and that DHS procedures prefer a verbal report to a paper one?

Not unless you can show that DHS procedures prefer shooters to pick up their own brass before photos are taken and markers are laid down.

You are the one doing a number on what was a marginally cohesive party.

I'm just pointing out the obvious.......as I watch it happen.

The party came together under Reagan with a conventional economic platform of Free Trade and Friedman principles.

Not only has half the party rejected the platform that worked, but they have raised social conservatism's ugly head to a point where it has overcome normal political activities and replaced it with social warfare, with immigration folded into this new dynamic.

People traditionally resist a governance that screws with their individual lives to that degree. Issues that once were not all that important, become incredibly popular, the harder you push against them.

One could say that if government made the act of playing with poisonous snakes illegal and prosecuted violators, the very act of playing with the snake would become popular as a result.

This is what is happening, and why Republicans are now becoming a endangered species.

The speed at which things happen today has made a series of political blunders a cancer that is now raging through our party. It will kill us.

That is all I am saying....but that is enough. The clarity will come to you one day, and I simply wanted you to remember that someone told you why before the answer becomes a known quantity that has been written about extensively in the political annal of history. I am not exposing myself, I am exposing a fatal error. I am voicing a long considered political opinion. Apparently you find it threatening.

It is unfortunately far too late to fix it, but knowing where the error was made, could help in the future. But it certainly does not help to accelerate and magnify the error, and continue to employ it.

The fact is, that it is still happening, and it likely will not stop until the destruction is complete. This really makes me livid to see this continue, but carry on! Enjoy! The fruits of your labors will be yours to enjoy in the new irrelevancy that is coming like a freight train.
