Yep. A couple of years ago I did a Google search on the technology (I used to work with technology myself some years ago), and only found it being discussed in China.

We have gunshot detection cameras on top of light poles in Chicago...
Yup. Drive past one every time I drive to midway airport.
I wonder though how well a gunshot detector works in a firefight..........
