The MSM doesn't like people exercising their right of self defense? Imagine how outraged they'd be if there were calls for restrictions on what and where they could report.

The article is simply ridiculous. I copied the eligibility requirements that must be met before a FL CC permit is issued and the possible reasons for denial of a permit, and the information submitted by the applicant is investigated and verified by the FDLE.

Eligibility Requirements

You must be a citizen of the United States OR you must be deemed a lawful permanent resident alien by the U.S. Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS, formerly INS).

If you are not a citizen of the United States, you must submit documentation issued by the USCIS proving you are a permanent legal resident alien who has resided in your state of residence for at least 90 consecutive days prior to the date the application is submitted. Evidence of proof includes, but is not limited to:

+ Utility bills; telephone, power, or cable

+ Pay stubs or other documentation from your employer

+ Credit card statement

o You must be 21 years of age or older.

o You must be able to demonstrate competency with a firearm.

Possible Reasons for Ineligibility:

< o The physical inability to handle a firearm safely.

o A felony conviction (unless civil and firearm rights have been restored by the convicting authority).

o Having adjudication withheld or sentence suspended on a felony or misdemeanor crime of violence unless three years have elapsed since probation or other conditions set by the court have been fulfilled.

o A conviction for a misdemeanor crime of violence in the last three years.

o A conviction for violation of controlled substance laws or multiple arrests for such offenses.

o A record of drug or alcohol abuse.

o Two or more DUI convictions within the previous three years.

o Being committed to a mental institution or adjudged incompetent or mentally defective.

o Failing to provide proof of proficiency with a firearm.

o Having been issued a domestic violence injunction or an injunction against repeat violence that is currently in force.

o Renouncement of U.S. citizenship.

o A dishonorable discharge from the armed forces.

o Being a fugitive from justice.

Detailed explanations of these various disqualifying conditions are provided in the Application for the Concealed Weapon/Firearm License. -----------------------------------

I wonder how many of the Sentinel's editorial staff could qualify for a permit under those requirements? At least a few would probably be disqualified by the drug and alcohol abuse section and/or the domestic violence section.

The packing.org site is down and has been for a while. Some reciprocity
info can be found at http://ccrkba.org/reciprocity.html but it isn’t as complete or as easy to use as the packing.org site was.

Thanks, there’s a new site www.ccwiki.org that allows users to update info. Please pass around, thanks.

At least a few would probably be disqualified by the drug and alcohol abuse section and/or the domestic violence section.

And I wouldn't be surprised if the entire editorial staff plus all the paper's reporters would be disqualified by the requirement that the applicant must be able to competently handle a firearm. They're probably a bunch of what Rush calls long haired dope-smoking phony-baloney plastic banana good time rocknrollers.

AFAIK, it’s any class three: automatic, suppressor, SB, AOW. I would call the BSO and tell them what you want to get and ask for the procedure to get the letter.

If you don’t want to do that, have an attorney create a revocable living trust. The trust “owns” the item and therefore the local law enforcement approval is not needed. That’s what I did for my suppressor. Palmn Beach won’t sign it.

The application shouldn’t be any problem for me.

Hwever I was asking, as I wasn’t familiar with the circumstances surrounding the sheriff and the cronyism.

I reside in Broward. Can I assume the Sheriff in question was BSO? Jenne? IF so, that only speeds along the application!

If you have any details about that Sheriff, please share a URL.
I’d like to read it.

thanks

Have a store in the Pompano area that deals in class III stuff. Will stop by his place tomorrow after work and get more details.

I’m building a sweet SBD 10/22!

Perhaps they should also cover how the increased rules regarding proof of legitimate presense in the USA has limited the ability of illegal aliens to obtain DLs.

Illegal Aliens can no longer use expired I-94 cards or obtain a license for six years with a three month tourist visa.

Apparently illegal aliens don’t want to be hassled and are not staying in FL like the used to.

but that might scare away the illegal aliens so they don’t cover that.

What they DO cover is a fluff piece to tryin and push a NYC gun control state of mind. Now which presidential candidates are NYC types?????

just part of that I-4 blue coridor.

It is all about pushing the return of the AWB.

I think this is part of the Guiliani push. The blue parts of FL are salivating at a NYC liberal (rhodam clinton or rhodam guiliani) bringing back the glory days of gun control.
