"Some how we need to get a deep pocket conservative to step up and get a paid organizer."
Yep..and if you want big turn our you will have to follow the model of the enemy....offer low cost rides on big "party" buses to DC for "sightseeing" and get a celebrity to turn out.
I'm sure someone can organize this quickly on the web and link to all the Conservative blogs.
It can't be done on just the web though, there will have to be real paper flyers passed out on the campuses.

The "enemy" is simply more organized on the ground..that's all. The blogsphere of Conservative activists will organize as well...soon I hope. Let's call it....United for Peace, Justice and a Free America.

Why, when Joshua Sparling was spat on, cursed at and threatened by 'peace marchers', were there so few people there to defend his honor? All the liberals have to do is climb out of their parents basements and hop on a Soros bus. Normal people have jobs and families they just can't "quit".
Social handouts allow the left to do anything any time they want, and the pro-Americans are forced to support them while they do it.
We desperately need social program reform. These people should be off the streets and earning their own keep, instead of biting the very hands that feed and protect them.

these events ultimately have no lasting impact. They sure seem to have an "impact" on the media and the Congress.

Last Mother's Day, I heard that there was going to be an antiwar protest where the 9th St bridge enters Ocean City, NJ. I had thoughts about going down the shore and doing a solo counter protest. I have friends, a place to crash, and places I could go to make much more of it than a solo Freep.
But I told myself it probably didn't matter, one person against some moonbats in a Jersey Shore town and slept in.
Turns out that two people showed up to demonstarte against the moonbats, an Iraq war widow and her baby. I very much regret letting that woman do that alone with her child. I've contacted the media who covered her and organizations like the Gold Star Mothers to try and contact her so I could apologize.

TGSL and I did a recon. It was more than 10,000, but no more than 50,000. Their high water mark was 125,000, which the Worker's World Party claimed as 500,000.
So as far as their rallies go, it was only 40% the size of their "big rally".

Well.....you know, I don't put much worth in this so-called leftist "rally". It was kind of like trying to get kids to go to church by offering them ice cream.Webb: Protestors signify public united against Iraq War plan
Virginia Democratic Sen Jim Webb said protestors who flooded the streets of the District Saturday represented a public more unified against the course of the war in Iraq than during the Vietnam War protests during the late 1960' and early '70s.
So much for your ice cream theory.

Those guys are the ones that told Josh Sparling they were going to come back with a gun and shoot him.

Normal people have jobs and families they just can't "quit".For all those who use this "excuse" may I offer a novel idea? Use your vacation time to attend the rallys! (I do.) Bring your children with you, let them see the democratic process in action! One Freeper brought his 7 year old to Walter Reed this Friday;we've had other youngsters. For me, one of the saddest experience of this weekend (in addition to the hideously low turnout of conservative supporters) was the number of young children--5 and up holding signs. Sure they didn't fully understand what they were doing, but they were learning from their parents to put into practice their beliefs. If you truly can't travel to a rally, start SOMETHING near you.

And if I was in any position such as the host of this thread, I would have NEVER brought wounded vets any where NEAR a leftist anti war rally.Dear AZZHAT - Joshua Sparling was there of his own volition. He wheeled himself from Massachusetts Ave and North Capitol St NW to the hill (I walked with him). Joshua was there with his friends and family. kristinn had nothing to do with his presence.
I look forward to your future after action reports. Please be sure to ping me.
To: trooprally
We also would need national exposure to promote the rally. It could bring many people to DC who aren't Freepers but support our troops and their mission. The net has websites of many organizations who are supportive of the war on terror. We could ask they all join is a grassroots endeavor to show we are united.
It's a thought.

I'm glad I got them on camera, not that it will mean much now.
But it's something to remember for future rallies. Keep alert and take plenty of pics.
