Giuliani's Wife Takes High Profile

Rudolph Giuliani's wife is coming more into focus as the former New York City mayor weighs a run for the presidency.

In a speech at the New Hampshire GOP convention, Giuliani said he has a proven track record as an effective leader, and that he would perform just as capably as president.

"When I promise you things - if I do and when I do and as I do - I'll promise them because I've done them before, not just because I had a vision of them," he said Saturday in Manchester, N.H., according to Newsday. "You know how you solve problems? You solve them from strength not weakness. You make progress from optimism, not pessimism. You make progress from faith and not cynicism."

In yet another signal that his presidential ambitions are serious, Giuliani's comments included a detailed self-analysis of his potential candidacy. According to Newsday, Giuliani is "seeking to portray himself as a tested leader for dangerous times in the mold of Ronald Reagan."

His wife, Judith Nathan, was also in the spotlight in New Hampshire. According to Newsday, she was constantly at Giuliani's side. He referred to her as a "partner" and was given credit for helping him deal with cancer in 2000 and the 9/11 attacks.

Giuliani was married to Donna Hanover when he was diagnosed with cancer, though, and his breakup and eventual divorce caused a media firestorm in New York City.

One state delegate told Newsday that he was displeased by the fact that Giuliani has been married three times.

Teacher Chas Street, 51, of Walpole, said Giuliani would have to explain "why things evolved the way they did."

I've got to wonder if Hanover has been offered an amended divorce settlement to keep her mouth shut.

If so, it wouldn't be the first time for a politican.

I like his current wife.

Hanover stands to make much more dough if Rudy wins (by leveraging the fame) than if she torpedoes him.

Isn't she buddies with Hillary? Maybe she's being told to hold her fire until after the primaries.

Giuliani won the Reagan Medal of Honor and Rudy was Reagan's #3 man at DOJ.

Also, of all the books list under the heading "Reagan's books" on the Reagan Library gift shop, Rudy's book Leadership is one of only 3 that aren't about Reagan himself or presidential planes and ships. The other two books are by Reagan's son and John McCaslin.

"Giuliani was married to Donna Hanover when he was diagnosed with cancer, though, and his breakup and eventual divorce caused a media firestorm in New York City."

- Giuliani's breakup with Hanover was a "media firestorm" only because he was a Republican. If he was a Democrat, it wouldn't have caused a ripple. Democrat's can be practicing homosexuals running gay whore houses out of their private homes (Barney Franks), serial adulterers (Clinton) or corrupt officials on the take (Reid, Jefferson) and the media couldn't care less.

Or, another offer she could not refuse. Maybe a stroll through Fort Marcy park?

Donna Hanover's maiden name is "Kofnovec".

Hanover is the name she adopted from her first husband Stanley Hanover.

Funny how the media never asks Stanley Hanover about what it was like to be married to Donna Kofnovec.

Are you trying to say that this makes Rudy a "Reagan Conservative"?

Did being Reagan's Vice President make George H. W. Bush a "Reagan Conservative"?

Did being Assistant Secretary of Defense and Secretary of the Navy make Jim Webb a "Reagan Conservative"?

As far as Rudy's book "Leadership" goes, there is NO CONCEIVABLE WAY that Ronald Reagan ever read it.

Or, take a stroll with Vince Foster?

How do you know what Reagan read? I think it's fascinating that it's one of 3 books listed under the Reagan heading in his giftshop that aren't about Reagan or planes/ships. And one of the others is written by Reagan's son.

And I just love that Rudy got the Reagan Medal of Freedom.
