I had this conversation with my 17 yr old daughter just this week. (We live in a similar situation here in Wisconsin). She had said she didn't want to stay here, but would probably do so to be near family. I told her it would be worth it to break the cycle - that's the only reason we're here is to see our parents through their elderly years.

So my question: what places are all the smart young ones heading to?
