Uh, no. Google damaged ITSELF by willingly going along with something against the basic idea behind their product -- the free and easy dissemination/distribution of information by the public.

They sided with tyrants for a few extra bucks.

Also, the oppressed in China longing for more freedom were no dummies. They figured out lots of ways of getting past the Great Firewall, from using elgooG to sophisticated anonymizing servers.
