Just a great man. It's great that he has thrown himself into this race because the country needs someone just like Duncan Hunter. When the names were all being mentioned early in '07 I always wished Duncan Hunter would be in it and I myself was surprised and excited to learn that my dream candidate had actually then made a decision to jump into the race. He's the best and I hope people will catch on to this because he is right for the times.

You never know if you don't try. Hunter's in the race, it's up to the GOP to be smart enough to give him the chance because he will prove his worth.

I'd argue that Hunter has the eloquence AND the personal values to back it up. Sorry, but Newt has failed in living up to a conservative lifestyle. Hunter also has combat experience and a son who has fought in Iraq to back up the politics. And that does go a long way with the public. Newt remains one of the most polarizing figures and his personal shortcomings are what makes it impossible in the general election.

It would make for an entertaining evening, to be sure.

Duncan Hunter - like Ronald Reagan - has a huge advantage that Rudy, McCain, Hillary, etc don't share...A man like Duncan Hunter can tell the American people what he really believes and have them share his ideas, values, and goals.

The other candidates, on the other hand, must lie to the electorate to get enough support to win the office because their views are shared by so few.

He has sought to echo former President Ronald Reagan in calling for “Peace through strength.”

Duncan should get original and change that to "Peace through superior fire power!"

"George Wallace was winning the DEMOCRATIC primary race at the time he was shot. American voters love cowboy rhetoric much more than political play-it-safe platitudes."

That is so true. Despite all the political correctness, Americans want the tough guy much more than the nice guy.

Yeah, Hunter is comfortable in his own skin. Did you see his announcement yet? C-SPAN will be re-airing it on Road to the White House on Sunday. An impressive man who comes across as a very warm person. He's got a good sense of humor, too.
