... and we shouldn't limit ourselves to operating inside the Iraqi borders, either. While I agree, I also think that you shouldn't escalate a fight you aren't prepared to finish. Are we prepared to finish?

"Hot pursuit should be permitted - and that would included "death-by-drone" if the camera tracks them LEAVING Iraq for Iranian soil, or ENTERING Iraq FROM Iranian soil. But "after crossing the border - It's war, but still wrong to shoot the (potential/probable) enemy IF he is still in Iranian "terrortory" but hasn't crossed the border.
Until we know WHERE the Iranian nukes are kept, we should not be bombing Iran. Yet.
Example of illogical rules of engagement: In WWII we shot at loaded cars and trains and trucks in France and Holland that "might" be carrying German troops, but NOT Swedish ships that were "certain" to be bringing iron ore to Germany.

SO, what are we doing to permanently isolate/curtain off the desert border between Iran and Iraq with fences/minefields/drones and patrols?

I also think that you shouldn't escalate a fight you aren't prepared to finish. Are we prepared to finish? We were in 2003. Now, it's a BIG question mark. We can thank 3 years of trying to please everybody for that.
