Don't know if anybody watched this last night, but Alexandra Pelosi's documentary attempted to cast evangelical Christians in a very negative light. I watched most of it and thought it backfired on her.

Hell's Box Office sounds like macaca. The only references are from the George Allen event.

I canceled Hells Box Office years ago when Bill Mayer made fun of peoples' heads being decapitated in Iraq and left in the gutter .
With the HUGE MAJORITY of Americans being Christians,
you'd think the morons at HBO would know not to cut off their liberal noses to spite their faces.

Look the libs are at it again. They are starting on Limbaugh, now it is the Christians. Sure there are Christians who feel deeply about their faith, so what. What is the problem? I am not an Evangelical , but if I had to walk down a dark alley at night, I would rather have a Christian behind me then some lib who believes in nothing. It figures that Nancy Pelosi would send out her daughter to try to make fools of people she knows will do their best to take her power off her. Remember this is the same hag who followed Bush around during the election, no difference, just different subject.

I watched most of it and thought it backfired on her.I've read a few reviews and that's exactly what they're saying. She comes off as a smarmy, vindictive bee-atch.

Indeed, a Google search for the phrase "Hell's Box Office" turns up some 200 entries--the vast majority of them from news articles about Pelosi's film.I did a google search on "Hell's box office" and came up with 201 entries. Excluding the word "Pelosi", it narrowed down to 136.
It doesn't seem to be a very common phrase, but apparently it is used by some evangelicals, whom Pelosi must have run into during her filming.

I saw a bit of her movie "Journeys With George" which follows then-Gov. Bush on the campaign trail in 2000 and tries to show how stupid he is. But as always, he refuses to play the liberals game, and he's the one making them look stupid.

I was out and came in to see O'Reilly talking about this with Sandy Rios and someone else. I didn't know what I missed, but didn't know what he was talking about when he kept saying "militant Christians." What is a militant Christian? Someone who carries weapons and calls for the death infidels?

I have not seen the show, but saw a clip and was surprised that "believers in Christ" were answering the type of questions pelosi was asking.
the brief Q&A segment i saw was talking about their wives having orgasms - in front of the video cameras no less.

I read that Alexandra is quite taken with the "HBO = Hell's Box Office" thing giggling everytime she claims Christians refer to HBO as such on her many interviews.
I've never heard/read/seen such a thing. And it isn't that it's offensive, it's just ... lame.

hMMMN.
So SHE invents a throw-away sound bite line....
Attributes it in a demeaning, sneering way to her HATED enemies (the Christian Right) ...
And the only references to that sound byte are in HER interviews.
Yeppers. Typical liberal. Typical (unbiased and ever-so-professional) liberal MSM writers.

And making fun of Christians is something new for Hollywood? Two films that come to mind that poke fun at Christians or attempt to make them look pretty ridiculous are "Saved" 2004 and "Jesus Camp" 2006
To: teddyballgame
After listening to her discuss her film project in an interview all I can say is she is even more of an elitist than Hillary. Her responses were dripping with condescension. She as much as said she was expecting to meet hill billy yokels, rednecks, and right wing whack jobs, but did say there were a few "good" people in the abyss of ignorance in the red states. Obviously she and her film making crowd never associate with the great unwashed outside of New York and Hollywood.

Pelosi has wasted her life if this girl is her contribution to America, and it seems to be. I am sure most FReepers, myself included, have grown children who are standing tall and doing good, way above this bottom feeder.

Her docudrama on Bush kind of backfired. She ended up liking him.
But with this, she's a coward. Make fun of Muslims, Alexandra. Mock the tenants of Islam. Do a re-enactment of Mohammed's life.
Theo van Gogh did. That's artistic bravery.
