I'm sorry, I have no links with which to bolster my claim.

If you find one, let me know. But the only really definitive ones I found were from anti-Bush and AFLCIO websites. I have a suspicion that there's more going on than what's alluded to in the labor statistics charts from the bureau of labor statistics. I have based my arguments on what's going on in my immediate area. But the nationwide numbers don't support my hypothesis. And the argument that the NAFTA isn't working in Mexico because of government corrruption and a 1994 economic crash is one that cannot be effectively refuted with the data I have.

The only real argument that I can see is that Mexico has an economy much like ours was over 100 years ago. Only a seriously great communicator (a Mexican Upton Sinclair, if you will) is going to change that. Because right now, it's just easier for them to jump the border into America.

You misunderstand. NAFTA is working in Mexico. In 1993, before NAFTA, Mexico exported $39.9 billion to the US, in 2006, about $200 billion. Your chart in post #46 showed their manufacturing productivity rose 60% between 1993 and 2003. That wouldn't have happened without NAFTA and the investment it brought.

Just because the workers haven't recovered their 1993 wage levels doesn't mean NAFTA failed, it means their government sucks.

Because right now, it's just easier for them to jump the border into America.

They have no reason to reform if they can export their poor to America. That's another reason we need a wall, for the benefit of Mexico.
