"I think some legislation holding these DA's accountable for there actions is in order."

We do not need any more legislation. Nifong can be tried and convicted for obstruction of justice in North Carolina State Courts.

In addition, Nifong probably has some civil liability for his actions. I have read that before this Duke mess came up, Nifong was borrowing money from friends to run his campaign, so it is most unlikely that a civil judgment against him would be collectible.

Another interesting fact: I am almost certain that Nifong was a classmate of John Edwards at UNC Law School.

Civil action is worthless. It's an endless chase that amounts to nothing.

Legislation should be passed banning these clowns from political life and the potential penalties should be dire.

"...it is most unlikely that a civil judgment against him would be collectible."

However, securing a judgement would innoculate against Nifong seeking to cash in on book or movie deals.
