As I watched these events unfold two years ago, I presumed that the Bush DOJ chose not to exploit these stories for reasons of national security. Although seemingly unrelated, both of these stories lead to the same larger secret, a secret that Berger risked his career to conceal, a secret that if revealed had the potential to destabilize the nation during a time of war.
As I have since learned, however, the Bush White House is not fully in control of its own Justice Department and FBI. In truth, the decision to protect Berger may have more to do with saving the Clinton legacy than with stabilizing the nation.

"They were scared to fight the lamestream media. They were scared to fight back against near traiterous libs."
I am not convinced that President Bush is a wimp. Is he 'selectively picking his battles'? I don't know, but I share the frustration many feel when assaults on the administration and our country aren't countered with the ferocity with which they are issued.
Cashill names some of them in this article. John Dion and Bruce Swartz are a couple prominently mentioned.
". . . when the other side is partisan to the core and couldn't care less if they betray their country."
So true!
It may be precisely that. It seems increasingly likely to me that the Bush & Clinton clans are quite happy to alternate control of the Whitehouse. If I'm right, look for Jeb in about 8 years...
"We are not angry enough, and we are losing America to criminals and traitors."
Agree.
Davis and the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform need to be encouraged in their effort to enforce Berger's plea agreement.
'The Judge' (in video Post #2) indicated there are still pitfalls awaiting Berger if the polygraph agreement is pursued.
You are too generous. Let's skip the cigarette and blindfold.
"enemies within"
Yes, and there may be even more of them than at the gate.
". . .the Dims control of Congress for 40 years prior to Newt made the DC based Feds products of the Dim's congress. They just outlast the Republicans when we do hold office and subvert all in the name of partisan politics...what's good for the country be darned.
Exactly.
I read that some of the papers that Berger burglared pertained to the Millenium Bombing plot which was still under appeal. This would fit with your theory of greymail.
and why isn't it, do you suppose?
your name isn't bush if u are anything but a blue blood who plays nice
disgusting
"And why is Bush going along with this? Somewhat like the Palestinians, Bush never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity."
What if during his terms, Clinton did similar things, for previous Republican administrations?
Honor among Presidents?
Reciprocity--or hoped for future reciprocity?
Cashill names some in the Justice Department and their roles in Berger's 'skate'.
Representative Davis and the other Republicans on the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform have appealed to the Attorney General to have Berger comply with the plea agreement and take the polygraph.
these aren't "secrets" worth protecting, they are secrets worth revealing - the extent to which the government knew of AQ operations inside the US before 9/11, as presented in the millenium after action report - who wanted to do something about it, and who did not.
pierre salinger.
bump for later
So in other words, let the people be damned. We-at-the-top will look out for one another, regardless of party. We-at-the-top will tell the little people what they want to hear --- about honor, patriotism, duty, national security --- but none of that shite applies to us because we-at-the-top are, well, at the top!
Yeah. I think I get it.
Yup. As someone who is neither a Bush-basher nor a Bush-bot, I'd have to say GWB has been looking wimpy and wobbly for quite awhile now, suggesting that appearances are not deceiving in his case. I hope I am wrong on this but our enemies seem to be getting emboldened by his weak behavior.
