From the article:
The challenge is how to tie Muqtada el Sadr's hands by a combination of political/economic incentives and the threat of total destruction if he goes back to the armed option. Uh... NO.
The challenge is to kill Sadr, utterly destroy his Mahdi Army, and send a message to the others that the same fate awaits them if they follow Sadr's path.
We should have done this a long time ago.

"American firmness of purpose will make all the difference. It's do or die." Yep! We're missing a golden opportunity if we don't say,"Anyone in Iraq who commits a disruptive act, (IED, Murder, bomb of any kind) be he Sunni, Shiite, Christian, Jew, Jehovah's Witness, Scientologist or WHATEVER will be shot on sight!"
Anyone who hides or funds or trains such a perp will suffer the same fate.
No more politically correct war!

Could have been done from a mile+ away - one minute he would be standing there with his peeps, the next minute his head would explode, and during the hub-hub aftermath they would not hear the round go off.
Hmm, could have been anybody - no reason to suspect a Marine sniper........

Instead of killing him before, we (according to at least one article posted here) paid him $14 million to stand down. He just didn't stay bought.

I read a report just today that the Iranians are still demanding they be returned, so I guess they aren't in Iran.

The idea that a top officer of the Quds brigade would be caught with his pants down in Iraq is simply astonishing. It tears the veil from all the Iranian denials of direct involvement in arming and funding Iraqi death squads. But the US Senate wants to believe those denials so badly.
It's just not fair. ;)

No wonder Bush was smiling so much at the State of the Union address. He was confident that surge was already working and that the pantywaists in Congress would soon have the legs cut off at the knees for their anti-Administration poses and votes.

Considering that this guy can lie through his teeth, why can't we just kill him and move on?
